Hi Jordan, what made you decide on the Metrel versus the Megger?

Hi Jordan How are you getting on with Metrel M1532 XC has it been worth the money. Do you find the Live Probe useful in your day today testing. Ian.

The cable you though might connect to old computer might be for a custom printer, or to test serial ports, might be good to check the manual, whilst it's new.

Hi Jordan I’ve been watching your extremely informative videos for a while now, just completed my domestic installer training (touchy subject with contractors(proper electricians!) and now moving on to EVSE Installation training, really interested to see you have purchased the Metrel Kit, it’s very expensive and I can’t wait to see how you get on with it, I’m considering the Fluke/Amprobe or Megger kit at the moment,so will hold out to see how you get on Your doing some great work with your Channel and I take my hat off to you Sir

Jordan yes read the manual for the Fluke 1664FC it can test for type B RCDs. It would be good to also to compare the test protocols between the 2 testers for type B RCDs. However, with all this new testers they should have computing capabilities and ability to add in new test functions ensuring longevity. I program this kind of stuff and it’s no big deal to do it. It’s always nice to get new tools and your purchase will pay for itself with all the EV charging installs you do.

hello congratulations for the video. The tool is exceptional. It would seem that only the ground resistivity measurement is missing ... Do you think it will be possible in the future to add this functionality through an external accessory or through the software update of the instrument?

Yes an in depth review would be great, I have had the Metrel Mi 3152 for a year now but have never used all of its functions extremely nice piece of kit
@leomchugh31593 жыл бұрын
What do you think of the Metrel? I’m undecided between it and a Megger 1741+ and the lack of reviews online for the Metrel are making it difficult for me to decide.
@stevendavies45723 жыл бұрын
It'll be good to see an in depth review of it once you get your head around it.trying to decide on one of these or the new megger mft.

Looking forward to seeing this piece of kit in action. Looks like it will benefit your EV side of the business. If possible can you also link to a PC so we can see what is available on there...print outs etc

I bought one of these back in September with the A1532 for testing EV installs. It’s now my main installation tester with my megger taking second place. 👍🏻😀👌🏻

Is your fluke not a 1664FC? If so, it can be used for type B rcd’s. Read the manual (page 45). But the metrel is also a Nice kit. Just not a big fan of the touchscreen. Regards from DK.🇩🇰

@@mathman0101 Don't mess up a mans excuse to buy a new toy...I mean tool. Even the predecessor, the 1654B was able to test type B RCDs...but the Metrel is a nice tester. But too expensive here in Germany, for their price (2500€ for this tester) I almost get two Flukes. The remote probe is additional 200€, and the test adapter is 500€.
@mathman01014 жыл бұрын
@@Marcel_Germann no doubt new tools always welcome. 👍🏾. So currently what is the best multifunction tester if price were not an issue? Does Gossen Mettrawatt do a good one that’s probably even more expensive?
@Marcel_Germann4 жыл бұрын
@@mathman0101 Gossen-Metrawatt are the most ones used here in Germany. Robust devices, good service provided by the manufacturer. You can rent a device from them if yours is sent in for repair or calibration. Chauvin-Arnoux are also common. And some are using Benning testers: www.benning.de/products-en/testing-measuring-and-safety-equipment/installation-testers.html

@@kittsdiy Here they want 2500€ for the meter, the EV test adapter is extra 500€. I'll stay with my Fluke 1654B, bought it in 2014 for 1700€, but it can handle type B RCDs. All prices have the VAT already included.
@kittsdiy4 жыл бұрын
@@Marcel_Germann yes crazy expensive .. but looks very nice .. but not needed in Belgium .. we don't do EICR reports here . Earth measurement / isolation fault fixing and maybe some RCD testing .. don't know much electricians here how have those expensive meters .. I like the Fluke 1664FC also ..but way to expensive..
@Marcel_Germann4 жыл бұрын
@@kittsdiy We don't have regular EICRs here too, but electricians have to test the work they performed...and write a sermon about it. Customer gets a copy of this protocol. That's for the case something happens you can proof that the work you performed was ok when you left. But these testers can do a lot of things, back in the old days you required several different testers. One for insulation testing, one for voltage measuring, one for direction of the rotating field, earth-loop impedance, continuity tester and so on.... The rotating field tester was cool, just a simple disc inside with an arrow painted on. Three terminals on it for the three lines, and the disc started rotating. It had to rotate in the direction of the arrow (clockwise). What do you think of it, now that you’ve had it for a month? I’m trying to find as much information and as many reviews on it as I can.
@whatthedeuse4 жыл бұрын
First thing I’d do is set up a user profile, you can set one up for yourself and one for Cory if you like, the massive plus of this isn’t just having a saved profile its that you can pin code protect the meter so you have to input the code before it lets you use it, so any thieving bar stewards have a useless bit of kit if stolen 😈
Don't go breaking your toys now 😁 for the amount of money paid for the equipment I would thought when you plugged the EV tester into the multimeter it would actually ticked or X out the readings by it's self on the multimeter .
