Road....you are thinking of the FL-9, which was indeed built in '57. MN received 4 (410-413)of these rebuilt F3's from MBTA.

The 413 is still alive and kicking. She was graceful on the wire train in April. Currently at malfunction junction (aka Harmon).

FYI, we're watching her depart WB (south) from MERRIT 7 station. She passes block limit GLOVE just south of the station and north of the Glover Ave grade crossing.

No. The F10s were custom (re)built (from F3As and F7As from the GM&O) for the MBTA. After the MBTA retired them (they bought F40PHs) some ended up being purchased by Metro North who uses them for backup power.

And they once had V12 engines, something that LIRR and NY&A still have on their SW6000s! (only as freight/yard movers)

how about Union Pacific 844? shes run for 60 years straight, only American steam locomotive to have never been retired
