I bought the digital version of Metroid Prime Remastered because I wanted to get myself into the Metroid series for the very first time. And this game truly showed me what I was missing out on when my brothers and I had the Prime games while as a teenager. I was BLOWN AWAY with how clean and silky smooth this game looks when I started my first playthrough. I absolutely ADORE this remaster. The environment of Tallon IV is breathtaking, the dual-stick controls work like a charm, the gameplay feels smooth as silk, and the enemies and bosses look fantastic. I now get why this game is considered one of the greatest games to ever come out when it was originally released in 2002. The coat of paint this remaster was given has made it look even better. What I love the most about this game is that instead of a straight-up action hero, Samus Aran is more of an inquisitive investigator and explorer as she takes in her surroundings while exploring the biomes of Tallon IV. Metroid Prime Remastered, in my opinion, is now the definitive version of this timeless classic. This game has now made me a Metroid fan. 31 years old playing this game for the first time, but hey. Not too late to climb aboard the Metroid Prime 4 hype train. I honestly hope Prime 2 and 3 come to the Switch at some point. I will be giving Metroid Fusion a spin when it comes onto the GBA library on Thursday. Consider me a Metroid fan, thanks to Metroid Prime Remastered.

4:23 unfortunately, the gyro function under twinstick was pretty well hidden, to the point that I thought it was absent. Somebody on Twitter had to tell me about it after I complained as such. But now that I know it exists, I'm having an absolute blast with this game! And this is coming from someone who used to *_hate_* motion controls before they started playing Splatoon.

As a kid I was playing on my DS Lite Metroid Prime Hunters. It was my first gaming device, cause I didn't even have a pc back then and I persuaded my mom to buy me a cool looking for me no name game called Metroid Prime Hunters. And it completely swallowed me.. Without knowing English language I was enjoying it so much that when I unlocked all the weapons and finally killed the last boss I was feeling so soo satisfied.. It was my first game in my life which I completed and I will never forget. Since then I was hoping to get similar experience but I never bought another Nintendo console cause Wii wasn't my cup of tee (and I was broke kid), 3/DS variants did not appeal me and Wii U and Switch did not have anything interesting for me. But now.. Hell WAU! Finally my inner child can get on rampage again. And thanks to EggNS and gamepad with phone holder I can play it comfortably on my S23 like a charm. Just wau.. Amazing times we live in. Once I'm done with Hogwarts Legacy, it's time to explore some universe. 😇

PlayStation 2 was my favorite console of that generation but I being a longtime Nintendo fan, I actually bought a Gamecube first and Metroid Prime was a big reason for it. Way back in 2002 this was something else and what's incredible is that it somehow really is even better now. Retro did a terrific job with this remaster. I played using the Switch Pro Controller with 'modern' controls and I think it just makes the game that much more fun. Playing with the joycons is cool too but I'm just better at the game when using a regular control pad for some reason. The graphical glow up was shocking, Switch has had some nice looking games but this one really delivered even on an older piece of hardware. Has me very confident about MP 4, especially if it's also on the next-gen successor.

Really brilliant! I bought it 2003 on release day in europe, but due to different reasons I barely played it. But I was always fascinated by the game and was not happy when I found out that my laptop was too weak to emulate it with good frames per second. Now, 20 years later, I finally played through it on normal. Then I played it again on hard and collected all the upgrades and scans to get 100% for the galery. And now I play it for the third time. Just for fun. Unbelievable great game, I love it! ^^

I happen to play Prime on my GC about a year ago and couldnt take more than 15 minutes. The controls make it unplayable these days in my view. "I would buy a remake of this if all they did is add a twin stick controls", and that is what I did. Even better, they remade everything! Amazing work and this is coming from something who almost always hates remakes.

20+ years later, it’s good to see Samus back for a new generation. It is testament to the vision and skills of game devs and the revisionists that we have this. What with Dread and this; I think Metroid is now a top tier franchise that Nintendo will now know, gets the fans hyped.

It is satisfying seeing all the raving this game is getting. When I was younger it seemed like I was the only person who actually cared about the game. Nobody talked about it, nobody cared for it. I almost felt odd for loving the game so much. Now reports are 100% unanimous. I've not heard one single complaint about the game since the remaster, and everybody is talking about it as having the potential to be the best game of the year. -That's my childhood game that nobody loved receiving all the love now twenty years later!

8:57 Chozo Relic Hunt. A flaw shared by all three of the Prime Trilogy and indeed many games of the Gamecube era. Doing something to make it less annoying might have been nice, but it's still an under-ripe berry on a delicious three-course meal.

I beat the original in 88 when I was 6 so I guess I've been a fan for awhile. This was always my favorite and as happy as I am with it, in more worried about 4 now. There's no way they can release that game running at 900p the way they did this one. Which makes it pretty obvious to me that they are waiting for the next console for that game. The complete lack of a real lighting engine doesn't help anything either. A great engine like the one from the original dead space would hide any problems prime 4 might have visually.
@krn0z.741
@krn0z.741 Жыл бұрын
True that. But the next console is not ghat far away. Recently, because of the pokemon presents on feb 27th, a 4chan post from 4 days earlier was proven as completely real and there was 1 line about the next switch. They work on a grphics imrpovement for the new switch generation which releases alongside the second pokemon dlc in late 2023/eraly 2024. And nintendo announced the switch 4 months before its release so its not improbable.

I love this game. But it's missing a few logs that explain the back story of metroid prime. (Final boss) and since it doesn't come with a manual, it's also missing the backstory, explaining the events leading up to the start of this game. Those are 2 very big issues I have with this game.

Play them side by side and you’ll find that the remaster is sadly lacking. The weapon light and ability to light up dark areas is a dynamic factor increasing the immersion. Yes the improved baked lighting looks great, but it is a shame they have removed so much of the dynamic lighting it affects your ability to navigate darker areas.

After roundabout 20 years and 50+ playthroughs across 4 platforms I clock in on around 5 hours for a 100% playthrough. It is my favorite game of all time but there are 2 things i am not as happy about. First: when you play classic mode, why the heck is the map on start where originally the pause menu was and why is the z button now aiming down? It doesnt make any sense and you lose the pause menu while playing. Second: where are the linking bonuses with fusion? Not having the original metroid makes sense, cause it is in the NSO NES emulator. But no fusion mode? Not even as a 100% percent on hard mode reward? I really hope that is getting released alongside fusions release on NSO GBA although I highly doubt it.

Its not perfection, the backtracking, the lack of a fast travel and the hunt for the chozo artifacts tank the pacing of this game. If it was just once or twice it would be one thing, but you constantly need to go back through Magmoor caverns from the mid-game on. I love this game but it is hardly perfect. Magmoor caverns just becomes a nuisance after a while. Also there should be a save room closer to major boss fights. It is pretty annoying to have to fight your way through sections you have been through countless times just to get to the boss and barely beat it. You are then left with very little health and have to make your way back to the closest save room. The game should replenish your health as soon as you beat a major boss and gain a big power up. I know most people might say fast traveling between save rooms would defeat the purpose of discovering things along the way, but how many times have you travelled through the same sections knowing there is nothing you can get yet? Just saying.
