The concept of a Metroid queen is like that of going into a wasp nest and fighting off the queen after you killed off all of her colony, it just gives you the shivers, not even starfox assault gave off those vibes with the Aparoid Queen and that was the most serious route that series took.

While this may not be as catchy as the original, it certain captures its original emotion. In the original track, the only other "instrument" was a percussion designed to sound like the stomping of the Queen's feet. It's not supposed to sound like this epic final battle, it's the theme of a desperate clash for survival. And with how hectic the boss is in Samus Returns, the mood is right at home.

This song truly expresses that your not fighting something you can easily walk passed. Your fighting something as strong as Ridley, a matriarch above all species.

@@andrewbara3507 Another thing I did not think of was that Queen Metroid has no Light or Dark based attacks, thus why she would not be able damage Emperor Ing. When it comes to their battle themes though, that's a hard choice because I like both quite a lot.

I love this theme, it reminds me of the mobile Mother Brain theme in Super Metroid. They sound so similar, yet evoke different feelings. The Queen Metroid fight gives you the feeling, “Oh gosh! This is big and powerful threat, but I still have a chance at overcoming it,” while Mobile Mother Brain fight gives a feeling of sheer hopelessness as you go through the fight until the Metroid helps you.

Representing very well a hostile environment with a predator that is too imposing and bestial. And not just anyone, we speak the queen of the Metroid species. It would have been even more impressive if they gave it a touch like the Amorbis OST, mixed with the Parasite Queen. This OST feels like a mix of Mother Brain, and the octopus/squid that gives the Super jump in Metroid Fusion.

I love that this game (and the original) get rid of the idea of traditional bosses and instead give the player a bunch of mini bosses. But, Queen Metroid gives you an all-out bossfight that is just as serious as it is fun! Also Diggernaut and Ridley in Returns as full bosses.

This is actually a final boss theme... the original and AM2R didn't feels like a final boss music. It wasn't epic or dreadful, and it didn't feel like a final, just like a normal boss

The original on the Gameboy was way better. There was no heavy percussion or anything similar to a battle theme. It sounded like a sombre, nightmarish theme, as if the game itself didn't mean or want for you to survive.

Listening to this music, that feeling of "The game doesn't want you to survive" has not been diminished in the slightest. Especially for those of us who've played the original and then dropped into this battle all "... Well, *that's* new!"

@@chaosmiles07 Honestly yeah. The chaotic tones this version takes matches with just how crazy the fight is compared to the original, which comparatively is a lot more repetitive and cyclic. The original music absolutely fit with that, since it was just the same melody repeating over and over (not to downplay said melody because it was a _banger)._ This is much more of a theme of absolute savagery; two apex hunters fight for survival.
