I decided to put together some relaxing rain and thunder recording over the Tallon overworld theme. Great for study or to help you sleep.

So, I dug the Wii out of the closet, ordered Gamecube Metroid Prime double disk with Echoes and started playing. In 2020, I sometimes forget what amazing thoughtfully crafted games used to feel and sound like. I'm not saying all games are bad now. But there's just a different feeling playing games from an era where there's no microtransactions and pay to win junk. And this particular music sort of reminds me of a time when video games were just so freaking good. The theme and storyline of this game particularly, with the greed and indifference of the Space Pirates, pollution, and the extinction of the beautiful Chozo, I don't know, it's like an eerie, unsettling premonition of what was coming for the industry etc. Anyway, thanks for posting the video. Awesome soundtrack, awesome game.

Not just the industry, but the world. Well spoken, though. I still have my Wii as well. The MP trilogy is one of the main reasons I still revisit. The atmosphere in those games is like nothing else. As much as I like Zelda, Metroid is definitely king when it comes to atmosphere and lore.

I dug my GameCube and Prime out too during summer. Picked up a free CRT TV and man, forgot how good CRT's were. Never played 2 or 3 even though I bought 3 for the Wii. Wasn't feeling the motion controls. Not sure what happened to it. Can't find it anymore lol. I should pick up 2 though.

Agent Orange CRTs are so underrated. It’s such an experience now playing Gen 6 and older on them. They added such an organic feeling to games at times that HD often washes out. Some games don’t benefit from ultra crispness and up scaling. I haven’t played Metroid Prime on one in a long time, but I’m sure it’s a fantastic experience!

when i was 4, my mom gave me a gamecube with matroid, and that game always scared the shit out of me jajaja then when i was older, like 12 years, i started to play the game again more serious, because even after, i couldnt do anything in the game. I couldnt finish the game due my disc and console where damaged, that was so sad to me because this has been my favorite game ever. Now i got a wii and i finally for the first time, i finished the game.... that was beautifull. Im 22 now tho. I grow up with this game

Oh my the feels. Sometimes I forget why I call Metroid Prime my favourite game of all time. Then something like this reminds me of the long hours I would spend drifting around the world soaking up its atmosphere. How every time I complete the game, as I walk through each area one last time, there's a sense of bittersweetness as I bid farewell to my time on Tallon IV. Thank you for posting this, and thank you to the developers of Metroid Prime for creating such an appealingly lonely, tragically beautiful, cathartic yet hopeful alien world.

Im glad they brought back the company from the first 3 prime games to develop 4. The original team maybe gone but im sure the soul is still there. Makes me wonder what the bandai namco team couldnt do to get it right. And they are some of the best talent in the world! I'm playing through for the first time. Never had time when I was younger but now I have my own place I'm getting into the series. I've played Metroid on NES then Super Metroid on the switch. I missed out on Metroid Prime 1. My brother had the GameCube, and young me struggled a bit learning the controls. Came back to Prime 3, which ranks high on my list of favorite games. Now I have Trilogy, and get the chance to return to Tallon IV with familiar controls .... and the unique ability to play it in "VR" on my drone goggles. Easily one of the most incredible gaming experiences of my life.

The first time I heard this song, I hated it because it replaced Tallon Overworld 1, which I already loved, and it meant I couldn't go back to Tallon Overworld to hear it anymore without loading an older save. But now that I know it's coming, I think I love it almost as much as the music in Phendrana Drifts. I am a derelict ruin and, like the native life of Tallon IV, it really grew on me.
