With major delays on the delivery of TTC streetcars, Bombardier has a lot to prove. Shauna Hunt checks up on the progress of the Light Rail Vehicles slated for the massive Eglinton Crosstown project.

@@officiallynrgxlr8tr It's not because of mechanical things. It's because the LRV belongs to Metrolink and because of that Metrolink can request some LRVs back and use them on other Metrolink projects such as the LRT line being planned to be build in Mississauga
@officiallynrgxlr8tr4 жыл бұрын
@@TheBrimleyTripper no. you're not understanding what I said. he asked why the LRTs have face to face seating. that is because it is right above the wheel well, and face-to-face seating is the most space-efficient use of that small and cramped space. the other option would have been sideways-facing seats, which would only fit 2 compared to the 4 they currently have. while the LRTs are owned by metrolinx, they have nothing to do with the seat design. that is simply the most efficient way to use the space. the ion train in Waterloo region, for example, is the exact same model, built on the same assembly line in thunder bay, not owned by metrolinx, and they have the same seat design.

Ottawa has light rail that can’t go in the snow, Canada really can’t get anything right these days. I wonder why?
@robwillie2265 жыл бұрын
It can operate in the snow, the news reports about this topic are innacurate as they only experienced problems in the snow during testing and during testing in the winter trains did not run as frequently as they will when they are in service and thus snow built up because the trains could not plough through it every 5 minutes.
