Greetings, that is a beautiful stove you restored! I have two similar stoves, one is a German BAT stove and the other one is a Norma E21. I bought the Norma online, just got it today but it does not burn properly and I think I know why, especially after watching your video. The lower tube that runs from the tank to the burner on the BAT stove has a flat piece of metal with some wicking on it. The Norma stove I noticed surges really bad so I removed the rear cap and as I expected, there is no rod or wicking of any kind in place. What I am wondering is this, did your stove already have that and you refurbished it? I want to make one for mine but curious about the rod, it kind of looks like coat hanger diameter wire. What did you make the wicking out of, it looks like jute? If you can help me at all I would be so thankful. Dennis

Hi, I used jute and metal wire for the wick. I did it by twisting both together.
