It's a decent mixup, and Falco can get some stuff off grabs depending on the mu and what di your opponent does, but Falco doesn't get nearly as much off grab as say Marth, sheik, or Falcon, especially against floaties.

@@Parpeing I mean that's your opinion, but I'd rather learn things about melee and be frame perfect than to just sit around and fish for grabs and combos like ultimate. 99% of ultimate is fishing for grabs. I find the game boring and clunky because of the buffer system. Not everyone can get into melee easy because of hard it is to master, even now most of melees top players including the gods have not yet mastered melee. Mango even said that there is still much more melee to be played dispite the Meta. I mean Zain had one a Major tournament with Marth and it's been a while since a Marth had been up on top. So it is in my opinion that I prefer to break my hands at a game I really like and I'm into. Then to sit and fall asleep playing a clunky game that a 15 or 14 year old can master, and destroy top PGR Players.

yeah not entirely true this game is so cryptic but for the average player this will effect their gameplay however you can light press ur l cancels which is better for a number of reasons and will save you your tech opportunity

you only get locked out of tech if you FULL shield (a full L/R press). To optimally L cancel you should only Light shield (a light L/R or Z press) if you L-cancel this way then you won't be locked out of tech ever. EDIT: I should have checked other responses first

What Falco can do? and how many players have like success with it? - Falco has the BEST projectile of the game, locking down any character he wants. Thing is people are getting extremely good with the power shield. - Falco phantasm with double jump is one of the best recoveries of the game , is hard to react on it, and it can spike. - The downair and shine are one of the best tools to start a combo and to rack up damage, it has a lot of priority over other moves. - As Mew2king stated back in 2014, one shine of Falco can lead to a lot of rack up %, or to you losing your stock. Even though players now are so good at out of shield options, and overall have improved their DI and defensive play , Falco can still pull those 0 to death stocks. - Falco Match up spread is arguably as good as Fox one, Fox does better against Peach, Shiek , Jigglypuff and arguably better against Marth. But Falco pretty much destroys Captain Falcon, one of the characters that can just destroy Fox if playing on point. And Falco has the right tools to deal with every match up. - Bomb soldier created Falco's base , PC Chris found success with it, Mang0 and PPMD pioneer him to push Falco to his limit. - Other than the players that have success with Falco : Westballs , Zhu , Shiz, Ginger , Squid , Lambchop, KingMomo, and the rising star Albert. - I would say that "Solo-main" Falco can win tournaments without dodging the "Falco slayers" like Zain and Hungrybox. Albert without been ranked, have defeated Hungrybox, and Zain was pushed to game 5 by Ginger. And Mang0 has proved that you can win tournaments solo maining Falco such as GOML 2019, SmashCon 2017 , Paragon LA 2015, and The Big House 9 mainly using Falco - Of course, since PPMD retired due to health issues, it is always questioned that Falco is a dying breed since the "only Falco we see in Top 8 is Mang0", but to be honest, sooner or later, Falco will be more represented.

People make the mistake of thinking they need to be born with “fast hands” or “good reactions” and ignore the reality that everyone who’s good with falco just put a lot of time into him. If you start off thinking “I’ll never be able to do that” you’re really only creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. Everyone who started out with Falco was slow at the start and gradually started to get faster and faster!
