@@SecondBreakfast "Sugar was first produced from sugarcane plants in northern India sometime after the first century AD.[1] The derivation of the word “sugar” is thought to be from Sanskrit शर्करा (śarkarā), meaning "ground or candied sugar," originally "grit, gravel". Sanskrit literature from ancient India, written between 1500 - 500 BC provides the first documentation of the cultivation of sugar cane and of the manufacture of sugar in the Bengal region of the Indian subcontinent.[2][3] The Sanskrit name for a crudely made sugar substance was guda, meaning “to make into a ball or to conglomerate."[2]" " Reference- en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_sugar 12:19 am, East Canada, Dec. 2, 2020

Also there are many sweet dishes we prepare for evening tea in that there's hindu and christian dishes like mangane, Alebele(crepe), Filhos(pancakes), shirvoyo(vermicelli kheer), Atol to name a few 😊 Also the famous Munoichi kelim(bananas) fried in ghee and served with vanilla ice cream. A very enjoyable video. I am surprised you don't know what Marzipan and flan are. they are not Mexican deserts but a universal favorite, also most bakeries in the Christian populated cities in India like Goa, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kerala have marzipan sweets shaped like fruits or animals in different colors for sale as part of their Christmas eats. most Christmas cakes have marzipan fondant in India. loved the way you immediately researched and sampled what you dint know. it really gave a lot more substance to your video.

Haha! We are happy to go out our way to even find these sweets here in Mexico and make Mexicans try them. We wish you could appreciate the effort rather than just criticising it.

I guess the flan is done differently in different places. The one you get here in Mexico City does taste like Jamun. Not the exact texture but it tastes very similar.
