If I have visited the Latin American Tower. The views are beautiful and you were lucky that there was no smog and you appreciated the Popocatepetl and Ixtlazihac volcanoes. Congratulations!!! Do not forget the Parade of the Day of the Dead, it's on Avenida Paseo de la Reforma.

It was the first major successful skyscraper in the world to be built on a highly seismic land. The engineering and architecture of the building was absolutely innovative when it was first built, with super deep foundations and other anti-earthquake techniques.

The Torre Latinoamericana is a landmark of Mexico City, when it was completed it was the tallest building in the world outside of the U.S. and it was the first high-rise to have an entire glass / aluminum facade, also its structural system has been recognized and awarded for innovation in the construction system that has been replicated in other seismic territories... It's a little more impressive when you think that this was built almost over 60 years ago, Mexican engineers man... ¡Viva México!

Great video Dan!, Actually ¨Torre Latinoamericana¨was built between 1948-1956, and inaugurated on April 1956. It was one of the first skyscrapers on the world, if not the first one with aluminium and glass facade, and because its central location in the historic district it is one of the best views of Mexico City.

Both the Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl volcanoes have perpetual glaciers on top, or had I don't know about their current status sadly due to climate change. And so does "Pico de Orizaba" the tallest mountain/volcano in Mexico. There are actual glaciers here, crazy, huh?

That beautiful mountains with snow are the volcanoes Iztacihuatl and the Popocatepetl (wich is active). That mountains are legendary in the mexican culture and also have a beautiful legend (you should read it). Actually you should go to the "Paso de Cortés" wich is a space between that two volcanoes. When Cortes arrived to México he was impressed by the volcanoes, actually the recharge powder for their canions. Or for example, Maximiliano de Habsburgo, lived in the Palacio de Chapultepec and all the mornings he went out to the balcony to watch the volcano.

They sure need guards to help the pedestrians cross the road at 1:09. I've never seen anything like it! Those cars didn't even slow down when people started crossing. I love the mug with the smiling skyscraper on it haha. I would have so bought one of those! Wow at those insane views from the top! That's a truly beautiful spot to watch the sunset. Omg that moon! Beautiful views of our capital! You’re so lucky getting a clear day, no pollution and no clouds. The mountains with snow, are actually volcanoes second and third highest elevations in Mexico (Popocatépetl {still active) and Iztaccíhuatl {Sleeping Woman because of its shape at the top}) on the other side is the city of Puebla. Go to For dinner to Bellinis at the top of the WTC. It spins and you get a 360 degrees view of CDMX. I hope you friend enjoy Mexico City too! Regards

For a second all the people crossing looked like busy Tokyo, Japan! As for the view off the top of Torre LatinoAmericana, AWESOME! That snow covered mountain you mentioned, the outline of the mountain looked like that of a sleeping woman, it could be the Ixtaccihuatl(White sleeping woman in náhuatl).

I remember our plane made a sharp turn right above this tower back in 2013, and I could look down at it across through the window on the other side of the plane. I remember thinking how beautiful this tower looked from way up there. It was my first time in Mexico City and I had only ever seen it in pictures before. I really wanna go back there and hopefully visit the observation deck. Being from Chicago, I'm a little unimpressed by other cities' building's heights, but just the fact that this was the first skyscraper in one of the most seismically active cities on earth, just makes it all that more impressive.

At 1:20 the yellow building is a fan store called “friky plaza”. Inside the 4-story building are little independent local stores that sell: Mangas, animes, action figures, yu-gi-ho card games, anime related clothing or t-shirts, video games, Japanese or Corean dramas, food (I wouldn’t recommend eating there because it tastes really awful.), And Marvel and DC comic magazines, I’m not sure if there are English translated content, but the majority is in Spanish. (The place is really small and smells strange)
