Love Mariana's voice and details about living locally at various areas in Mexico. I always feel comfortable listening to her!!!!!! I live in the Phoenix area, but sometimes stay summers in P.V.; however, I love Huatulco, Guanajuato and many other places in Mexico. I have to say, I love the people of Mexico, because they have good values and are family oriented. Even in Nogales, I love my Master Mechanic and trust him so much - always go through locals for the best service!!!

Hola Mariana from Surrey, BC👋 My wife and I have traveled to Huatulco a few times and plan to make it our retirement home. Absolutely love the charm of La Crucicita, the people, and the area in general. We never feel uneasy waking the streets or driving. We have a budget in mind for relocation and are already looking to purchase. Your videos are great! Muchas gracias para todos los informaciones!

There is no such place that has access to clean water from the tap. There may be some private homes or subdivisions that have filters but none of the water in Mexico is potable. Queretaro is a good place if you like big cities. If you don't like big cities then I like San Miguel de Allende or Ajijic.

I don’t want anyone to say they never knew it was going to be hot! 🥵 Of course in a few months the tourist will be back and walking around el centro in their swimming suits. It is something to see if your not used to seeing so much white skin and body parts. Some kinda nice views actually jaja. Many too many nice really for my heart condition 😂. Yes, Mariana, we know in the USA all the foods come from 2,000 miles away, but in Mexico local markets have local fresh fruits and vegetables. We love Huatulco where the beaches are pristine, but it's hot and humid during mid-day, so it's best to go to the beach late or early in the day. The roads are outstanding inside the Huatulco resort area, but the roads traveling to other locations are usually less well maintained and can be a bit dangerous as well.

@@geoffspeed In the USA, they ship fruits and vegetables over long distance. Most citrus is from FL or CA and Pineapples are from Hawaii. Many fruits come from Mexico, Central and South America, too. Many places in the World fruits and vegetables come from the region you live in. Bananas come from places like Ecuador, etc.

The airport is about 30 minutes from what they call Huatulco Bahía Santa María. Just have your hotel booked in advance during high season. I have been here during the time when there are no rooms in any of the thousands of hotels. Many families rent rooms when it gets that crazy here. There are charter busses full of people from all over who know they needed their hotel in advance. I came and had to stay in a rather low class place because like always, I don’t think ahead. 😮

Great video, Mariana, and well-timed! My wife and I are headed to Huatulco on August 18th for a week-long exploration to get a better feel for reality outside of the all-inclusive world. We *think* that we want to retire there but this is our first step in beginning the decision-making process. Thanks to Mexico Relocation Guide, we have hired local guides for 3 days to help us as we begin this phase. I know our budget for housing and I certainly understand that looking online for rentals is a losing game. I feel hopeful that getting on the ground with expert help will be a big eye-opener for us. We have a long list of questions for them as well, so I hope they're patient 😀

Where is this town? It does not come up in Google maps, nothing specifically as a beach. There are many “Huatulcos,” but nothing I can find on the pacific coast. Though I assume it is in Oaxaca somewhere. Why are all the photos for SantaMaria Huatulco with beaches, when is at least an hour inland?
@MexicoRelocationGuide

Huatulco is made up of 9 bays that are in the actual beach. the town is not on the ocean.. that’s why you see it inland. in the video I share the bays. Bahias de Huatulco is divided into four main districts. Tangolunda is the area where the large upscale resorts are located; Santa Cruz is a small town with the main marina and Santa Cruz beach; La Crucecita, is another small town just inland from the beach area which provides support services to the area, and Chahué is an area between Santa Cruz and Tangolunda. see here en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huatulco#:~:text=Heading%20east%20from%20Santa%20Cruz,more%20developed%20areas%20of%20Huatulco.

Very well made video. My wife and I are both Mexicanos who are thinking about retiring in Mexico. I am a natural born US citizen, but my wife was born in Tijuana MX, but has been a US citizen for many years. My question is, since she was born in MX can she purchase real estate in MX as a mexican citizen?
@MexicoRelocationGuide
@MexicoRelocationGuide Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Yes, as a Mexican citizen your wife has the privilege of owning land in Mexico wherever she wants. As a foreigner, you are also allowed to own land in Mexico however if you buy property near an ocean you have to purchase through a bank trust known as a Fideicomiso
@kellyname5733
@kellyname5733 Жыл бұрын
First question..Does your wife have dual citizenship or Mexican citizenship? If not, you and your wife need to be working towards at least permanent residency in Mexico, going forward to dual citizenship if desired. If your wife is still a citizen of Mexico, then Mexico is your oyster. If she is still a citizen then it will be a ton easier for you to get citizenship or at least permanent residency if that is what you want. Any citizen or in most cases residency will allow you to buy property. If your wife is a citizen then you can purchase property anywhere including on the coast whereas a non citizen will have to have a trust in a bank to buy property close to the coast and sometimes not allowed at all. Mexico does not separate husbands/wives/families like the US does. Mexico wants families to remain together. Gotta love that, right? I strongly recommend using a facilitator to help you fill out the paperwork so that you only need to do it once. Many try to save money but find many roadblocks due to lack of knowledge. Facilitators can answer all your questions 'if' they are good at their job. Sounds crazy but Facebook has lots of help in finding facilities or you can buy 'The Mexico Relocation Guide' for $500.

Honestly I've looked into moving my belongings even after a horror story happened to me with moving when I moved from FL to TX. Consider selling it all and starting new. Less stress. I eliminated everything this time I have my suitcases which I will fly with and I have 4 boxes and some artwork that I will do shipping rather than a move. I only kept some items collected that I would like to have in my permanent home. I had to trick myself into the excitement of getting new furniture for new home. Good luck on your move no matter what you decide

It would be great to know the price in dollars as well. Pesos price =$Dollars price

It's very easy to do this. Go to xe.com and plug in the peso number so you get the dollar amount in that date

There is nothing for rent at the price you are giving us. Everything is managed by real estate charging the same as they do in America for long term stay.

I have only been here in Huatulco since November 2022 but I know the prices well. I have lived in 4 places with quite a variety of prices due to the size and amenities, water, electricity, internet and more. No place I rented was through a realtor. I think that would be a mistake first of all. I paid between 1800 to 6000 pesos. I have seen places up to 12000 pesos personally (more space than this single guy needs.) I know of areas that were in the video (I call the areas, uptown) and they cost like Mariana said. I am not rich but if I wanted I could pay like 30000 pesos and have a pool and whatever one would expect is luxury. Well, I could say so much more but I don’t want to bore anyone. Stay off Facebook expat groups if you don’t like the gringo prices; find a Mexican to help you and set your price before looking. Good luck. ❤

@@JuanMoreno-wo5yb It seems you have to live there to find something reasonable, otherwise all the rentals are above retiree budget...Thank You Juan

Thanks for the feedback Juan. And you are correct- where you look matters. If you work with a expat realtor they won't be showing you the rentals I share on this video. You have to learn how to look on your own
@MexicoRelocationGuide

Exactly- word of mouth and finding them in person is the best way to find the lowest cost rentals. It all depends on your budget. And remember to be realistic- you won't find an ocean view rental for $8,000 pesos

@@trumpialightning1691 I speak enough Spanish to keep me out of most trouble (except with some girls🤪) but speaking Spanish helped me find a couple of Mexican gals who helped me with each move. And I live on the cheap… at first I thought I needed hot water! NOT!! Cold showers are good for a few things 🤣!!

Very misleading, I was there last December and couldn't find any cheap rentals of good quality. This area is for the richer people. Beaches are small and very steep. I would not recommend this area to anyone. Sorry.

maybe you didn’t find reasonably priced rentals because you weren’t working with the right people. it happens all the time to new comers

I agree, but do not make deals with the established real state companies. You need to take a short trip to the area and deal directly with the owners; that’s what I will do as soon as I get there
