@@MegaBlueboi the Atrium is much closer to the HD6** tuning, where's the Empyrean 2 is closer to the Sundara tuning, though on the warmer side

Hi Mark. First of all thnx for a great review.I was wondering how your PEQ profile would look in your Squiglink for this headphone. What target would you use.The Super OE or the WIP target? What happend to your ghost target? What is according to you your best target at the moment for this headphone? I don't get it anymore ha ha, so many targets :). The "WIP Target" is a work in progress to replace the old Super OE. These are meant to encapsulate my ideal neutral tuning, not necessarily how a headphone should sound. So "what's the best target" is IMO up to your preferences. Try it out and let me know.

@@SuperReview Well I Like the tuning of the bass with your WIP target but I am in doubt if I like it more with the OE treble instead of the WIP treble. Am I right that the OE treble sounds a bit brighter? Can you explain to me why you use a brighter treble with the OE that has a linear bass response? I assume that you would go for the WIP treble with the flat response bass. looking forward to your answer. You heard the Empyrean 2. Based on what you heard what profile would fit the best for you with the EMP 2? The bit brighter treble of the OE or the bit reduced treble of the WIP? I assume you go for the bass pattern of the WIP with the emp 2 !!!

I keep finding some people said it is almost similar to the HE1000SE but a bit warmer and more mid bass and less clinical/detailed in sound.

I have demo ed this. So over hyped headphone. It sound almost like 109 pro but warmer and lower in treble by just 1db with a little more bigger stage. I think 109 pro sound better for my taste because empy 2 sound.... Boring somehow because it sound like many chinese IEM (i also use iem). At this price you can get he1000se or ZMF that have more character in sound and value.

Meze makes really beautiful headphones and the Empyrean line, especially the OG version for me. This is where I would stop with the headphones, especially with what Zack is also producing at these levels, I don't see a need to pay double or more than this. Of course this is not a negative about people who can easily afford more.

How does it compare to the LCD line? The Empyrian 1 had amazing soundstage but the resolution was... Not to my liking. I only tried them for about 15 mins in an Audio show in London a few years back so no time to EQ or anything. I love my 99s and they need a lot of EQ. I don't particularly like to make them neutral as I find it kills all the things that make the 99 sound great but anyway, how do you think it compares to the kings of Planaragnetics?

I think it's hard to compare IEMs and headphones, apart from fairly vague generalities. Generally I think headphones excel at micro contrast and texture, and IEMs excel at bass, tuning, and image separation.

@@SuperReview Sadly I wished it were more, about $500 atm. I already have a pair of hd600’s. I’ve been tempted to replace my stock pads with ZMF perforated sued pads. DMS says they are a viable alternative to the stock pads which are about shot after 6mo. (I use my hd600s a lot). The only other set that I own is a Beyerdynamic DT700 pro X. The DT700 pro X I am looking to sell tbh. I tried to like them but they def were not for me. The sound signature is awful on that set. I am open to suggestions..? I thought maybe Sundara..?
