What did you spray on gasket to get it to stick? Great video!
@BundyBearsShed3 жыл бұрын
Isually on machined surfaces I use aviation gasket glue, on cork I use contact cement on one side and grease on the other. For places without a gasket I use Loctite 515.

Hey bundy really like your videos! I was wondering if you have messed with a Perkins 203? I have one I rebuilt with a 2 piece timing cover and it started leaking right out the gate and has gotten worse. Was curious if there is any tricks or better gasket material to keep that from leaking?

Not yet! I have one in storage but no room for it yet. This is one instance where I would use RTV silicone.

Ok sounds good think that might be the best option haven’t found anything else that works better so far

Lance, Where is the engine serial number located on my Massey Ferguson 231 tractor? It has the Perkins AD3.152 and I can’t find the engine serial number anywhere! Thanks!

On the block just under where the head bolts on would be my guess.

So I’ve got a crankshaft or timing seal leaking on the front of a 135.....pretty badly. Is it reasonable to to the seal replacement without take the timing cover and all off? Also I’m thinking the rear seal is going as well....is that something you can live with a while if you keep it topped off or am I asking for trouble not doing it sooner than later? I don’t even have a level bit of ground where I could sit a tractor...:/

Usually the timing cover needs to be removed, for both to leak you may have some engine blow by.
@JacobvsRex3 жыл бұрын
@@BundyBearsShed It apparently had been sitting about 3 years un-run. Cranks right up. Do you mean the blow by may be causing the leaks,, resulting from the leaks, or the leaks are a sign of blow by? Sorry, I'm a dummy with this stuff. Greatly appreciate your knowledge.
