Hi Lance, interesting welsh plugs them, the only ones i have ever fitted were round slightly concaveed discs or convexed if you look from the other side lol, they were put in concave side inover so when you hit the centre with a hammer it almost flattened them out making them grip the hole, i'm glad i saw how you fit those types or i would have fitted them backwards. The last one i had to replace was in my old vauxhall frontera with issuzi engine about 4 years ago and even the new ones were stainless steel concaved discs. It was a bit of a pain to fit as you had to gently tap them in with a piece of pipe so they didn't start to expand before they were fully home. cheers Derek

G day Derek, Yes the early Fergies had the saucer type and you did need to be careful for sure. I like these better as they seem to have a more positive fit.

Where did you get the name from as Welsh plugs?????? I know them as chore plugs . As when the castings came out of the mould yoy broke up the sand and let the sand out the casting. . Then you fit the chore plug . So why weslsh plug . ?????

Common term here in Australia. I did a video on the terms of them and where the names came from.
