Got it home at last. What have I bought this time? Should I have left it where it was? I'm starting to think I should have spent my cash on beer instead.
Anyway, a quick walkaround and a look at it.
If anybody needs the best heavy equipment transport at reasonable prices in the Norwich area, get in touch with A Steven Transport www.asteven.co.uk/ and speak to Matt. My driver on this occasion was Jason, great guy and ready to help.

Operating that thing would be my idea of hell . Drive to the dig area , park up , clamber some how up on the backhoe without falling into the great divide . Then do a bit of digging , retrace your steps following a trail of bread crumbs back to where you think the tractor seat was when you saw it last. No doubt you would make a great job of it Clarence but wrestling with all that ironwork to rebuild the engine would be a monster of a job on your own . If it were mine I’d fit the rear tyre round the right way , do a bit of tidying and get a profitable sale to put towards a more straightforward project. But then we all have different opinions !

Well squire, that is handy on the one hand if it was fit for work or a money pit if not. Given it doesn't work and has been cobbled up and not maintained properly, it will consume both time and money in equal measure. You won't be happy just fixing it up. So do it right if you can make enough useful work for it to return your investment? Otherwise break it up.

@mitchp350 Жыл бұрын
@@ClarenceFudWeasel Well that someone was probably me. The way the filter was placed in the canister, which looks exactly like the one you have, it appeared to me it was useless as a filter. So I searched for a filter that would solve that problem. So in doing so have probably restricted the flow within the filter to a point that it starves the pump. I have been going to eliminate that set up and put a modern Hydraulic filter housing on the return side after the backhoe.

Needs a bit of love and attention I'd say. Maybe get a few other things finished first and think about what to do with it then. I can't believe you swear Clarence. I don't. I do lie though...

What on earth were you thinking about that heap of junk that you needed to purchase it? I'm assuming that no one gifted it to you FOC as you will have had to at least agree to pay the haulier hard cash to collect, haul and unload it for you? I personally think that it is far too far gone for all the reasons you highlighted to be any sort of an economic repair and you should have directed the truck straight to the local breakers / scrapyard and gone for a total scrap price based upon weight.

I would say part it out and put the money towards an excavator. Why? Because excavators are easier to work on and require vastly less alcohol and profanity.

You have purchased a large amount of KZbin content. With the current armed struggles going on "military repair" on a video will drag in the pointless commentators by the thousand. I would watch a full repair. Cheers

At the least make it usable. Get it going and doing real work around your own place - maybe rentable to neighbours too. You then have the option of a full makeover later if it's worthwhile *and if you have the time.* When it's going you will also have a more saleable MF40 should you not have time to do the full Mariah on it. What's all this "involuntary" cussing about? 🤔 Cussing is at the heart of all good farming, plain and simple 😐
