Several years ago I was a beach bum out in California. I used to sing this song and I dedicated it to my first love, whom I didn't speak to anymore. I forgot all about it as one does with even the best song. Five years later, I'm driving down the road with my first love as we'd reconnected. This song comes on my auto play and I got SUCH chills. Wefound each other again, in the long run 🥹❤️

Lying, a dreamer, dreaming beside me The city sirens keep me awake And I know I'll see you again in the long run People they tell me I should be careful That you'll worry, and I'm already miles away But I know I'll see you again in the long run And I know I'll meet you again in the long run But we can't be lovers 'Cause I'm still afraid Of leaving the things I love dearly. I wander, I roam, I write home to tell you That I'm sorry, I won't leave it this late again. But I know I'll see you again in the long run And I know I'll meet you again in the long run But I can't be married You'll take me away From everything that I love dearly And we can't be lovers You'll take me away from my home My home My home But I know I'll see you again in the long run.

It reminds me of how no matter how much you love someone for who they are in your days, their story is large. The impossibility of being everything your love needs. Sometimes we're missing such a large part of us. Trying to explain that can be difficult. Love still remaining, sentiment goes as far as to explain the moment, with a life left in its wake. It's a love that gets truer when you understand and try.

Dean all of it. It’s just the usual hack KZbin comments on music videos, same as “damn I just spit my coffee all over my screen from laughing” hack comments on comedy videos, no you didn’t spit coffee everywhere and no, YOU didn’t “spout inexplicable tears”
@devina82034 жыл бұрын
MrGenedancingmachine ah I see, that was 2 years ago and while that’s no excuse, I did end up being unreasonably emotional on hearing the song for the first time and did actually start crying. Maybe it’s the language I used that sounds bullshit to you, but I wasn’t lying. It’s audacious of you to be telling me of what I didn’t do a few years ago.

@zachjacobson28286 ай бұрын
What’s funny is, me, who’s constantly impatient, skipped the part where they were walking. I didn’t hear their English accents. I’m from America, and totally heard country, bluegrass/mountain music influences in this song. The American shirt threw me off too haha 😂 but hey when you dig deeper you find out origins of country music in America are from the original settlers Scottish and English folk songs inspired American music.

This is a lot better than the album version. The harmonies sound fantastic. Whoever is producing their studio albums needs to listen closely to this, there's too much prettifying and over-production on their records. If they did a whole album like this with them just singing over acoustic with little to no studio effects it would easily be their best work so far.
