This didn't work for me until I unplugged and the restarted my router after setting it up on the printer's control panel. Apparantly the router has to clear a cache or something. After I did that, it FINALLY showed up as an option when I ran the installation program on my computer. Try this if your computer can't detect it after you establish a connection to the wifi via the control panel screen.

Brother Office i figured out that all though its not mentioned anywhere in the manual... the computer had to be hooked up to the router via lan during installation... then after installation/setup the computer could be used to wirelessly print to the wireless brother printer... otherwise the brother printer would have never shown up on the screen to add it. thanks to my own troubleshooting...even though our business was falsely promised a complete setup and install upon purchase... everything is work​s fine.

Your router is the device that connects your computer to a wireless network. It will most likely be a small box with a cable plugged into the wall jack.
