Congratulations for having the courage to deliver the safety message! (Even though it made me cringe.) You may have saved others a trip to the ER.

Vision Auto Garage , back in 1991 I spent a month in the burn unit after draining the gas tank and it exploded. But still love all things mechanical. I’m currently working on a AH Sprite.

Dave, would you be the famous (in my crowd) Dave Schultz of the Lorton area?

sorry to hear you learned the hard way, i stupidly brushed a table saw blade back in 2017, i was clearing out a shed to put two Wolseley 6/90's in, and was making shelving, i cut 1/3 way through the end of wedding ring finger, it was the only major accident with a power tool in 30 years work. safety equipment (PPE) is a pain in the bum 99.99% of the time, too hot for welders, googles fog up in winter etc etc, but for those that have lost eyes or fingers they always wish they had been smarter, and those saved a similar loss by using PPE never forget how lucky they were.

Been there and feel your pain lost the end of my finger after an argument with a ripsaw. Safety first now though!

Maybe I missed this. Don't you treat or prime the panels as soon as you get them fitted in to prevent any surface rust? When you create an enclosed space, do you create a plug hole through which you can push a cavity-spraying tube? I found that my midget had rust in cavities that could/should have been more accessible, and also water run-off could have been larger. What do you recommend for chassis cavities? Anti-Rust solution, lizard-skin, bitumen ... Or will this be a later episode? Keep up the good work. Thumbs up (sic). Great guy.

The footwell pannels have all been primed, I just didn't show it on camera. Seam sealer is an excellent way to keep moisture and road spray from getting into spot welded seams, or through any pin holes in seam welded joints. Areas like the toe board, if seam sealed and primed wont rust, but rust proofing products like Wax Oyl could be used once the sills and cavities are assembled. It would make a good future episode! :)
