MGB Exhaust Muffler Vs GlassPack

In this Video... I'll be doing a Muffler Swap with a GlassPack style. I haven't got the Car Fully Tuned yet.. But I do like the Quieter sound of the Muffler for now anyways.

I like the factory muffler sound better. It may have a little more back pressure, but it sounds better than the glass pack. I just worked on my '72 and now it's only got the rear muffler. Made a couple of videos on the work and what it sounds like with zero muffler (header pipe only) and with my new setup which is similar to your second setup, but my muffler is rather old and I have twin SU HIF44 carbs so that may influence the exhaust tone and maybe the slight engine differences too. I still hv the A.I.R. pump too. Cheers. Cool video!

I know the Weber Carb isn't the way of a real Enthusiast. But easy to work and tune for the average mechanic. Thanks for watching.

Ideally what you need is a muffler between the two. I'm planning to install a 1.75 to 2" aftermarket muffler in my car. It's a version of the Morris Oxford which has the same engine. The b series engines sound great. Do you have a catalytic converter? That might be the culprit for the rasp.

No cat.. I was thinking about resonator before the muffler. I did a little research from Moss Motors. For now I just kept the OG Muffler. Thanks for the input. I look into all options. Thanks for watching

The exterior and cockpit look really nice. I'm sure the engine bay and that wiring harness is on your to-do list. Any plans to add an A/C compressor?

thanks Gary. I too vote for factory. We have a '67 BGT. Did you consider going to twin SUs instead of the Weber ? Any idea of what horsepower/torque you expect ? John in Manitoba.

I was thinking the Duel SU Setup.. But the Weber is so easy to install and Adjust. I might down the road. I got so many projects.. The MGB is just a Good Runner now so I'm happy with it. Its not really fast but Handles Good. Not sure of the HP. Thanks for watching.

I have 2 glasspacks on mine. It sounds nice but a bit droney at highway speeds.
