MGB Front Coil Spring Replacement - Lowered?

In this video, we remove the short lowering coil springs and put in chrome bumper springs. This is a '77 B, former rubber bumper, converted to chrome. I go through the step by step process of removing and getting the spring back in there!
The Moss lowering springs lowered it more like 2". It measured about 14" from the center hub to lower chrome strip. With Chrome bumper springs (from the junkyard), it sits at about 15".

An easy way to remove the spring is support the spring pan with the jack, then loosen the two outboard spring pan bolts (one of which is the sway bar link, if equipped). Then remove the two inboard pan bolts, release the jack slowly and tilt the pan down. The spring will drop right out. There is enough clearance to do this with the long, stock rubber bumper springs.

Thanks! I've done it that way too, but it's not perfect. The pan doesn't tilt as far as you think it would and you really have to pry it down

I'd like to add that instead of destroying the tie rod end or damaging the retainer, you can EASILY remove the two 5/8" bolts that hold the retainer to the steering swivel and twist it out of the way from your working area w/o removing the tie rod or damaging other parts.
