We used to use 3M Helicopter tape on our side pods to protect the paint. Its designed for the leading edges of helicopter blades to stop abrasion from dust/grit. Tough stuff. It might be an alternative instead of an aluminium plate. It's clear so you can place it over the paint.

You can put on the front (scuttle}., underneath your hold down springs etc.Any where your going to have abrasion. Expensive ,but top notch product.👍👍👍

Steve the fine mesh on the front grille will stop about 40% of the air passing through to the rad so you’ll need to allow for that.

It is less blocking then the actual metal bars... so really no issue

The fender protection shield (aluminum) - why not a bonded rubber? - I mean if rubber and vinyl rubber (white) are used as sandblasting shields. Glad that you are back online!

Couldn't some 3M wrap film have been easier than alu plates where you drill holes in a car? 🤔 I have film on the wider parts of my Lotus; it really helps 👍

Steve the aluminium plate above the exhaust doesn’t fit as nicely as the others parts that you have made.

Yes, and then again its a race car... not a showroom car.. there are many area's that are bend and not straight after several crashes in the past.. that is how it goes on the track sometimes... but thanks for the comments

We are all still waiting for refurbishing Rusty. The excuses have been exhausted. Action is the thing that needs to happen.

hahaha, excuses... not really come over and try to work in 1 degree centigrade on metal... you are more then welcome.. As I stated before 2023 will have a lot of old rusty... but not only we are only one winter month down..
