Up until your message, I’ve been seeing pretty positive reviews from the most part. I will admit that I despise MGK, but the beat was Hella dope and even though he wrote the lyrics out, they didn’t come straight off the dome, I think he did a pretty, damn good job. And this is coming from someone who really cannot stand him at all. I am giving an objective opinion, because, like my man, 2Pac, said, Wayback when, “you don’t have to like my music, but please respect it. I ain’t gonna hate on this, just cause it’s MGK. I think more folks are hyping it because it's MGK, meaning he's usually not known for spitting fire bars so this is going to get more attention. Another issue as Big Sean recently said, is consistency. Let's say this spit was a 10/10, ok, if MGK does that 1 time out of 100 times we see him, it's cool but so what. If we see you can spit like this, do it more often, same with Big Sean. You can do your usual music, you can be thought provoking, you can do art you can do out of the norm collabs etc but step your lyricism up. Idk why that's so hard for rappers to do, they got the talent, just execute it more.

I was into the beat more than anything, and I’m pretty sure that he repeated himself several times, so I am going to listen to it again, and give you my honest opinion. When you say that the beat is the most of irrelevant part, I do agree when it comes to a freestyle. I just really enjoyed it when I heard it, and maybe I was too messed up and gave him too much credit. Some substance and flow maybe, and he's got that beat going for him, but that was an amateurish lazy af rhyme scheme. 90% of it was rhyming "or something" with "or something" as a segway for a sub-par single syllable internal rhyme scheme using "uh." For example: "This rhyme scheme is dumb or something Like I ain't having no fun or something Sitting there just saying uhhh or something But what's up or something Apparently the sun or something Even though you look up to me like you're my son or something." I can't cosign that, it was just alright. Compared to the sun, it's about as hot as an oven or something. Swap out "or something" for a more complex multi-syllable internal/external rhyme scheme with a little more wordplay and heavy hitting bars, introduce a flow switch with a new cadence, etc., and you could actually have something decent enough or something.
