Hey I just installed my MGW shifter and my 1st to 2nd is not feeling smooth going into gear I think I might of had a lock out going to 3rd I can't really tell because my shift ball is loose I don't want to put lock tite on the ball until I know the shifts are correct. How smooth are your shifts especially from 1to2 on normal driving? Mine shifter seems lined up more to the right and takes effort from neutral to get it into 1st gear. Does it supposed to fell this way or should I adjust it? Thx oh I have a 2015 Gt

Sounds like something is binding up. Mine shifts super smooth with positive engagement in any gear during normal and aggressive shifts. I never experienced lock out with my shifter so I'm not sure what's going on there. My recommendation which kinda sucks.. I know. Would be to pull it back out and make sure it shifts freely uninstalled then reinstall.

Hello, could you tell me where you got the billet adapter that you mentioned or a part number? After watching your video, I think I want to get the exact same setup. I don't race my Mustang, so do not need the Race Spec Shifter. I just like to cruise and take long drive's and I think the setup you have would be perfect for mine also. Appreciate the help.

Yes the adapter is available as an option from MGW. It is in one of the drop downs when ordering on there site. I recommend the one I have which is race spec 15% throw reduction. In my opinion it is perfect for daily or for weekend spirited drives. Just the right ball height and throw. Definitely a worthy upgrade. You will love it! Thanks for watching.

@@mick76 Sorry, one more question. In your video you mention you got the Standard/Standard shifter, correct? But you just mentioned Race Spec? Are you referring to race spec shifter or billet adapter? For the billet adapter, there is only 1 option. So I assuming you mean race spec shifter? Thnx for the help.

@@jaysworld5378 Race spec is just how they brand the shifter. Look at the chart. www.mgwshifters.com/shifters/mustangs/79 Standard handle standard shifter gives you a 15% throw.

Well my thought process on that was if MGW could make rifle components which need to be very precise then it would reflect in their shifters as well. Which it does! As far as the polished adapter they also offer it in anodized black, and the push down feature on it after using it for a little while I actually like it better than the pull up for reverse.
