Mr. Madness, thank you for these high quality citra and ppsspp tutorials! Two questions: Question 1: Whenever I tab out of the emulator, it seems to destabilize the program eventually leading to a crash. It starts as periodic stuttering and music glitches in the village areas, then longer load screens and saving screens, and then culminates in a crash several quests later. Is this a fullscreen problem or do I need to pause the emulator to tab out safely? Question 2: I'm a solo hunter, so the mandatory monster health scaling in g-rank will frustrate me to no end. Do you know of any cheats that scale the monster's health down to single player values?

Hey there, I have a high end PC but I have a weird problem with MH4U on Citra. The game runs perfectly locked to 60 by itself however once every 3 minutes or so, the game itself locks itself to 30fps for around a minute and stutters. The frame numbers at the bottom don't show anything wrong and show as if the game is still working fine locked to 60, but it obviously isn't. Any fix for this?

If the CIA file is encrypted, you need to use a tool like "batch CIA decryptor" on it first to decrypt it.

@@Cthulhudud3 It might be what version of the game you have. Cheats are region specific. So if you have an EU version of the game, they may be causing them to crash. You are welcome to hop on our discord. One of my mods bundled like, every controller and cheat into both a citra and lime emulator for community ease of use you can grab. I think it would be your fastest bet at getting things going. Its in our announcements in the pinned comments!

@Axel_Lim citra/lime3ds tend to be more cpu bound than gpu bound, but if you are playing on a lower end system it might be struggling a bit. Best performance these days tends to be with lime3DS while using Vulkan as the graphics backend

I stopped supporting zerotier a while back due to system issues, but my current wireguard beta network totally functions. You can play psp and 3DS monster hunter online on your steam deck :D I haven't had the chance to get a steam deck yet so I'm not sure exactly how the configuration works, but google getting wireguard on your system, then head over to my discord for your wireguard config. You should be able to connect with it!

That should be plenty fine. It's primarily based on single core cpu performance and a 7th gen i7 should be good enough.

I cannot guarantee your game will work properly online or with any of the performance cheats if you choose to run the game without the patch. For some reason i cant play mh4u in vulkan on citra and it still runs with minor lag on 2x after all cheats, is it because my pc is not powerful enough or it has other issue. Also if i remember correctly i was able to play mh3u in 3x on citra with ease maybe 30 or 60 fps with vulkan

@jack76thegamer30 pretty low end specs for citra. 30fps might be possible, but I wouldn't expect higher than that even with vulkan, since that is simply changing the backend graphics rendering. A 2 core 4 thread cpu that's 8 years old just may not be able to handle the emulation

L&S'ed with conviction. I got Citra last night as well as MH4U. After installation I was plagued with issues, stuttering both visual and audible, the speed of the game was stuck at 30-40%. While my system is Elite tier hardware, I know its decent so I could not understand what was going on. I spent the better part of the night scrounging through forums finding bits and pieces of small fixes. This morning I found your video and decided to do a complete re-install and build. Thanks to your video I now have MH4U running perfectly playable, locked to 30FPS my speed is a constant 99-100%.

Really happy to hear it's working well. Citra can be a pain in the ass to get games running so I'm glad the tutorial helped. As a heads up, our current multiplayer offering has recently been giving some players issues so if you encounter disconnects, it's probably us. We are currently in alpha testing for a new network that is already blowing zerotier out of the water so hopefully soon we'll have a tutorial for flawless multiplayer to go along with the game functionality!

On a 12yo hardware (3rd gen i5, 8gb RAM, GTX660, windows 7) and 1898 build of Citra I get 30FPS most of the time after using the performance hacks. Bringing Palicos on quests lowers the game performance often and it can drop to 15-20 at times. But overall, the game is quite playable.

Android works if you have a relatively new phone but because it's not very optimized yet I don't have a tutorial on it. In addition, you can only play online with android on an unofficial citra build (MMJ). Official doesn't support multiplayer yet.
