Don't forget to mention the Food Buff: Felyne Groomer makes it so you only have to roll TWICE to get blastblight (or even fireblight) off! :) REALLY useful for when you have a less evade heavy set of armor.

Combo your blast weapon with part breaker+Bombardier no part on any monster is going to be a problem breaking. I'm really happy they didn't completely kill off these to wonderful skills coming together.

I noticed something about blast. It is perfect for tripping. I have a Deviljho armor set that is specifically meant for meant for him. it contains Tremor Res, High Grade Earplugs, Honed Blade, Challenger +2, and Latent Power +1. I freaking hate tremors as much as i hate roars, so i use this set to make the fight way better, the catch is though that, I'm forced to use my honed Chameleos Switch Axe in order for the set to be complete. Tripping is a bit hard at times so i usually go for his legs, but he would only trip from time to time. Using my honed attack Light Break axe legs, he trips way more often, as i aim to get the blast explosion on his legs. He trips left and right and I go in and punish his Weak spot with a SA burst. However, the light Break Axe has low raw on it, even honed for attack is lower than most of my weapons, even when not honed. As for a blast weapon, im trying to go for a relic on this one has i depend more on my high raw. Blast is good, but . wish there was more raw on my SA. But my point though is that, Blast is the best for tripping. I believe that is a technique that speed runners use.

an item I love to use (specially after I get blown up) is Mosswine jerky. It fills up ALL the red damage and gives you natural recovery up for a short while... You should do a video about items one of these days :P

What ilove most about these weapons like in 3U is that you can take them into almost anything and do fine It also eliminates the need to change weapons nonstop after each quest, which I love, especially in online hunts (so I dont keep others waiting on me)

Crimson Fatalis definitely has blast in the fight, he can swipe in front of him while standing and if it hits you, it gives you the blast blight, and it leaves behind a blast cloud which will inflict it on anyone who walks into it.

The crimson blast is probably the best, I got 60 blast from my fully upgraded C.fatalis charge blade and like only 45 from my MHGEN teo charge blade, even with full teo set it's still WAAAAAY lower than almost all my crimson weapons. I'm a day 1 blast blight hunter and have sworn by it ever since. It's always fun to see the little explosion after a chain of attacks. Also adding minds eye and bludgeoner literally negates the sharpness problem of crimson weapons

Another thing to note is the armor skill "Antiseptic AKA Bio Researcher". It gives you immunity to the stench status and blastblight. Armor sets like Gore Magala and Teostra have this skill.

the best thing about blast is that you dont need to concern for the monster elemental weakness or status resistance, but you can kill a monster with his higher elemental weakness way faster than with blast/slime (yes in 3U it was also faster) not to mention there are even more broken things in the game, like 4 HB with pierce 3, nobody survived more than 2 minutes to it, Ive also seen monster dying like nothing to 4 LS with paralisis, the LS have big elemtanl/status and even monsters with high status resisntance meaned nothing to it, Slime was only extreamly helpfull on solo hunts, specially with the Kelbi Bow, but there are still more broken things in the game, you only need a good team of friends or veterans who know the tricks, actually thats why many hold making gunner till G-Rank, so that they can go straight for broken with it

I just started using IG and started with Dios rod because I've done a shitload of Brachy farming with friends for the hell of it because we wanted to see which one of the Brachy weapons was the best. That aside, Dios Rod is already destroying the hell out of a couple of G-rank enemies and I haven't even made it into the second form. Sure, I have Attack up (XL) from armor and gems, but etc.

nicuador Blast still does 100 damage to them but they threshold starts higher and/or goes higher. Still the Crimson Glaive is fine enough of a weapon that I think it's fine against them to be honest.

Winterous This is correct. Blast is probably the worst against Molten Tigrex, increasing its threshold by 100 each time for 50 damage, followed by Brachy and Teo for 100 threshold per 100 damage. They are so many deviations you are better off just researching yourself, kinda like different poison values, and some monsters have an insane 500 damage on blast (looking at you Gogmazios)!

nicuador Personally think that if people arent gonna pay attention to enemy weaknesses and just YOLO everything, theres not much thats gonna stop them. However this is less of a problem with blast, on molten you get a much smaller blast less often, but the base damage is still completly viable, its not like there doing NO damage, but with blast on a high raw weapon such as the common glaives, its really more of a small speed boost

I think I used the ahtla ka SA against teo, and I 100% use it against brach. Long story short they die regardless, bludgeoner makes you broken and blast just adds to it

Teostra's weapons are generally the best as they NORMALLY have the highest sharpness with Sharpness +1 which is a skill many people have end game, so there's that considered to, before making a weapon line, I always check online to see what has the best overall sharpness at the end of it's line, if it has affinity, slots, etc. know your weapon, more fun to be had!

I farmed the heck out of dalamadur for his talons to make the best switch axe, which is really great in terms of damage + blast without awaken, and has 3 slots on the final one. Sadly that requires g rank dalamadur event quest which is not out yet, so I can't hone it or take advantage of those 3 slots :/

It's true though, in 3U if you weren't using slime weapons you were probably doing something wrong. A friend of mine used the slime dual blades and I would use the slime gunlance and we would wreck monsters really quickly. If I recall correctly, in 3U when the slime explosion went off it would do set damage to _all_ parts, not just one part that you hit last, as well. It really was OP in 3U.

I have to say that if you're using glaive and want blast, make the Dalamadur glaive. It has decent blast, good raw, 1 slot, decent purple (with Sharpness +1), and ridiculously long white. Unless I'm soloing an endgame monster, I almost never leave white sharpness (with Razor Sharp). Ever since we got G-rank Dalamadur, I've been using it as my main glaive. The Crimson Fatalis one has horrible sharpness, with no white or purple without Sharpness +1 and their short even with it, and Brachydios requires Immortal Reactors, which is the ultra rare drop from Raging Brach.

This was very informative! I want to make Teo SnS, but I just can't get ancient shards consistently, and when I do, it's never the SnS. Could anyone give me some tips on how to farm ancient shards, or if there's a way to manipulate the results? I'm still in HR by the way.

avalabbaman as far as I know, no, there is no way to manipulate results. But, if you're looking for ancient shards (this can also help with charm farming to) just do the quest "topple the monarch" in hr 5 and eat for felyne explorer. Do all the mining on the gold ore spots then when you're done go break zinogre's head and end via subquest.

i jsut started fighting Brachy (low rank, yeah i know im still 6-star caravan cus i havent had much time to play for a LONG time) but i was wondering why people said Gunlance was so hard when i wwas wreckin him with just a standard type of gunlance, nothing special turns out i didnt realize Gore magala armor that gives the Bio Researcher skill makes you IMMUNE to Blast Bligth so he cant even inflict it on you...now i was also mistaken cus i thought Bio Researcher also delays gestation of the Frenzy Virus, but thats Bio Master which requires 5 more skill points in that but hey, its makin gettin the initial Brachy weapons alot easier so hell im stickin with my Gore armor!

There's a bit of confusion regarding what Bombardier and Felyne Pyro actually do: according to both Kiranico and MH Wiki, they affects explosion damage, not the actual status number of the weapon, but I haven't tried them yet. However if that's true, the only way to increase the actual blast applied is by using Crit Status... someone can shed some light on the matter?

Funny that Molten Tigrex weapons are really good even without Blast. Their dual blades have over 400 raw and positive affinity (albeit only 5-10%). I don't know about the other classes since I only really took interest in the molten duals but I hear that the hunting horn, lance and SnS are all really good. Blast is kinda a bonus if your running a free element set.

The Brachydios weapons are also probably the easiest to farm since you don't need any super-rare materials from him apart from the Pallium in the end. So, like what my friend did, I suggest you get those rather than the other ones.

i LOVE the blast blight. probably my favorite status XD the only complain i have is (and this is the defenition of a nitpick) is that i dont think the whole "flint like dust" thing fits brachy. i just wish that for his fight and his weapons, it kept slime blight (but it would function the exact same way as blast) but thats only an asthetic nitpick. it has no imapct on the gameplay and is a VERYminor complaint overall.

There's a early Game blast weapon in Gen called Vulcanis and it is really cool looking and it has blast too. Which i think early Game blast element is quite rare. And it pretty good

Well for glaive the brachydios one sucks compared with the fatalis one. exact same raw, but less blast, less slots and less affinity, it speaks for itself... One question, would you recommend Attack Up (S) or status crit (with 15 affinity), i have a few slot spare and i don't know what to do with them

Well I know what to use for my next dual blades. does the blast attack happen more during demon dance or would it only happen at the end of the combo.

***** Actually this is close to the case. I have a 6 year old daughter and apartments are not big in Japan. So I do Gaijinhunter stuff late night after work at like midnight to 2am, so I can't talk loud or I'll wake up the family. :) I want to be more lively but I have to be a respectful father and good company worker so time is limited and it ends up being a king of hack job

gaijin hunter I also don't have a mic so recording audio on my iPhone then importing and trying to clean up larger noises takes more time than I have... So some cases I let mistakes go. I wish I had more time to be more perfectionist about it (as a producer it bothers even me), but I also want to produce content so I am cutting corners :)

Do you guys think that blast is viable on GS? Since it only has a chance of dealing the element in 1/3 hits, that means that with GS (since it hits slow) you will be dealing it a lot less, which means it takes a lot longer to actually get the element to build up and do damage. So would poison be better for GS? I am stuck between the Commemoration Sword (240 blast) and the Great Shamshir (660 poison). Which should I go with? I also prefer to attack using charge attacks and use Crit Draw.

hello sorry if i disturb.i still not understand something..is more a genral ask...i see your damage formula simplified..and you say that elemental damage is the elemntal (value/10)*effectives...for example if u ise a bow with 200 blast..i deal 10 blast ant each hit *effectives for build it up and make an explosion?

Does the proc of 1/3 applies to every individual hits on the monster. Or per attack of a combo. Like the DB has a standard combo of X,X,X. Does every X has a chance of 1/3 or every individual hits on the monster. Like the devil dance has a total 13 hits(if I'm not mistaken) , this would mean that on average every devil dance would have the proc about 4 times ?

Slime in 3u was only overpowered in multiplayer, everyone packed brachy weapons, because the raw/sharpness/slots were decent/top tier and slime was good against everything. As a 3ds owner, I soloed everything and slime was no better than poison. It had a big dps burst at the start of the fight and after 10 minutes, it was like running just with raw, no more explosions

I had started Teostra's Cb, but I'll go for Bracy's. I already have it just need to upgrade it. Want a good blast weapon for Gogmazios since a good portion of people online are carried to it or are just bad. Had a guy with High Rank armor trying to do it yesterday, another guy kicked everyone after we failed, even though he was the final cart.

jeffrey floyd Slime does 500 damage against Gogmazios, fire and dragon are it's two weaknesses. I used the Agnaktor Dual Blades and the Rathalos X armor against it (for FireAtk +3)

Samuel Rodriguez I was assuming he would with the oil. Darn. I haven't made a Rath but I could do that. I have a fire attack+11 talisman and a dragon attack+13 I think. I could make Rath or Styginan. Hm. What do you think?

Samuel Rodriguez That's absoluely not true. Gogmazios takes 500 damage per blast and has a pretty low tolerance considering how much you'll be hitting him.

Which Blast Switchaxe would you recomend me? Fatalis seemes really good, but farming those 3 eyes is a pain in the ass.
