The monster itself is strange, but it's a nice change from the frantic, OMG I'm dead in two hits fights that involve most elder dragons. This thing has an uncanny resemblance to Atmos from FF5, to me.

Well just for anyone who doesn't know, if you carve while crouching, it skips the crouching animation you do for carving hence saving you some time

Wait a second...His back has better hit zone value than his tummy for shot type damage?? I've been shooting at his tummy this whole time thinking it's a better hitzone. lol. But then again, I use Rapidfire Normal 3 only. So, shooting at the tummy might be a better idea since the bullets will ricochet more & hit the limbs too. The original Tsukami from DOS also has a more dynamic battle.

They could just rework the fight like they did with Fatalis, a lot of fights have been super similar since they were released, like Nargacuga and Zinogre, but they could just change it. That being said, Yama in MHFU is a "spectacle" fight like Lao-Shan and Shen Gaoren, they're... a design... lol, I think the main focus is to just make a big monster, which works in the context of other monsters I think. I'd say Akantor is also one of them, and probably Ukanlos. Any monster that is huge can have problems with design, I think, though I think they can do it right like with Jhen and Dah'ren Mohran, even Dalamadur, though I can't really remember that fight, it's been a long time.

@@HeadHunter455 yes for me also I feel these fights are like you are facing big dragons who were never really challenged before like normal hunters couldn't stand a chance and no monsters in right mind would challenge big elder dragons so their fighting style is simple 'cause that's how they normally deal with intruders, just single hit or two and they are done. But our hunters built different

I ended up not getting my break, but sitting down with someone else in call, not playing together just vibing while I hunted monsters. I fought the one horn (I was trying to unlock high rank teostra, boy did I find out the hard way the mistake i'd made) I gave it a good 40 minute fight and went "this is the g rank one they put in high rank cat isn't it?" yep. Got what I missing (thank you rusted daora) and made the LS set you see in the video and (other things listed longsword from here on) and yeah it hit very good and hard. This thing, this abomination of life is the worst monster I've seen in the series, the IOTHS? the piscines? they're nothing, who in their right mind decided that this punching bag should have a *frame one insta kill* it's in every one of your descriptions, if you want to play multiplayer here you go (insert link) this monster is absolutely intended to be fought with people, this is the worst monster in the series. Kind of hard stuck in g3 now, uh it's elder dragons or double rajang or furious rajang? (his punches enraged I think actually one shot me with capped defense enhancement) so yeah formulating a plan(that plan is full silver rath gear for 100 more defense), but the plan might be fold and go online or move on, I don't think I particularly want to see the *third tigrex* (ukanlos *I know nothing about this monster bar ice akantor*) I had next to no trouble with this monster aside from the succ, the succ is fucking awful and irredeemable in solo play, it is just an mmo training dummy with a ohko.

He is better than lao Shan lung or Shen Gaoren, while both focus on the gate Yama is attack you which more interesting than punching a crab leg or dragon belly for hundreds of times

Yeah, Lao and Shen are huge monsters, they crawled so Yama, Jhen and Dahren, Dalamadur, and Nakarkos could sprint. I'm not terribly impressed with Lao in particular, though I love his design, but the later "Huge" monster class is way way better and if we needed shen and Lao to get there, then I'm okay with em at least that much. I even think Zorah Magdaros is a decent fight, especially compared to Lao and Shen lol

I liked it a lot too, but I'm trying to use different music for each chunk of the game so it feels fresh, like a new "season" you know? lol, at least, I started doing that since the HR village videos, I think. Probably just the skull set that I used in this video tbh, it's pretty meta for optimizing damage, if your weapon has at least 1 weapon slot, you can get all of the skills that I have with this armor set too, which is somewhat accessible. The Narga LS has 2 slots on its end upgrade, so that's nice :)

A couple of things, the LS in this video still needs G-Rank Rajang parts to upgrade, then, with the armor set giving S+1 RA+3 and sharp sword, it's probably one of the best sets for damage for LS, but it doesn't have any utility skills or earplugs etc. so, if those are important to you, then this set is kinda worthless lol, especially if you play in multiplayer where min/maxing your damage isn't as necessary or even recommended, depending on the group.

Im using hammer on this guy and its hard to land a hit on him should i switch to LS? I feel like LS is such a broken weapon you can just spam slash, spirit attack rinse and repeat. Maybe this is the reason why they call it "The Weeb Weapon" lol

All of the weapons are broken, that's why the game is fun. The only thing that balances the weapons out at all are the different monsters and situations you find yourself in, as well as your own personal skill with it, of course. All of the weapons have potential to be absolutely unstoppable and make (most) fights trivial. I would recommend LS, which is why I used it in this video, mostly because it's my weapon of choice in general and it works pretty well. You can use hammer if you really want, I'm sure you can figure something out, maybe someone else has made a video on it? But if you want my advice, then yeah, switch to LS, since it worked for me at least, unless you just can't use LS, which is totally fair. If you think LS is broken, even just for this fight, then oh boy, let me tell you about HBG... lol or LBG or Bow for that matter. There's a reason some players love using Bow vs Rajang, it's because Bow is another broken weapon.

lol it's got a lot of content, people love MHFU because it's got a lot to get through. There's 59 large monsters in this game, 5 ranks to get through (low and high village, low, high, and G rank guild hall) There's loads of key and urgent quests, on top of the optional ones, and many reasons to repeat quests over and over, both intrinsic and extrinsic. For my series, there are 7 more quests I gotta get through, but I may cover some others, like maybe Fatalis, maybe the Monster Hunter quest, etc. Monster Hunter is an awesome game series because there's so much to enjoy both in quality and quantity, alone and with others. It wants a lot of commitment and time investment, but it gives back in a way where that time doesn't feel wasted. It's great.

lmao it's alright, though I would recommend you start over from scratch. When I got bored of the game (Nekoht, Khezu) I used cheats to speed through the game, just to see what was at the end, because I wasn't sure if I could get there myself. That was years ago and I started a new save, of course, and have enjoyed the game more. Shit, when I was younger, I would *literally* get a new game and go online to look up cheats, I'd use gameshark and buy cheat code books... haha. I think cheats are... fine... in singleplayer of course, but they can *really* sour an experience. I think using cheats can be a fun little reward, some games have unlockable cheats, Devil May Cry has a cheat outfit that gives you infinite Devil Trigger, for example, Resident Evil has unlimited ammo things that you can unlock etc. Cheating in (singleplayer) games has its appeal for some people, I get that, but you're kind of cheating yourself (lol) out of the intended experience, and might get bored of the game way way faster than you should. After a while, I realized I'd just get bored of a game when I'd use cheats, so I just don't do that anymore. Unless I'm getting bored and figure I'm done with the game, then maybe I'll pop open cheat engine and try and figure out how to break it lmao, but that's a little different IMO. I wouldn't recommend anyone use cheats on a game with a long term progression like Monster Hunter, because it can taint that progression. Another example is when I played TF2 and I joined a server that unlocked a bunch of achievements. Now, if I ever wanted to, I can't work towards those achievements. So, y'know, it's cool, just consider what it does to your long term enjoyment, you know? And of course, don't cheat in multiplayer games, that's just not cool.

@@HeadHunter455 yeah, i think using cheats on games like monster hunter ain't worth it. the experience of legit monster hunting and progressing, seeing yourself from weak to g-rank is lost. but people have preferences so i wouldn't bother with it too much lol 😅. i don't recommend cheating, play them properly!
