This video was a fair bit difficult to understand what you were saying as it was getting slightly drowned out by the background music and the volume gain on the mic. Some feedback I would suggest is tuning down the music even lower when you are speaking! An easy fix if you are financially able is to purchase a 20-60 USD microphone that has some good reviews and is stand alone (if you are able to implement it). One final suggestion is to maybe subtitle. Just some positive feedback I wanted to give! Your tutorial is excellent and the clips slowed down truly helped understand the concept you were presenting!

This series is great Peppo. You’re the guy that made me start playing LS. You could give it a shot with the punishing draw LS. Barioth awakening with 4 attacks and using only the barioth chest you lose very little raw. If I can destroy Goldian with it in 3 mins you the master can do crazy shit.
@PeppoLS4 жыл бұрын
I tried it already, that’s why I told you it’s funny, but nothing more 😅 Ofc you gain openings from the stuns but the problem is that in speedruns you gain those openings in other ways, so you don’t need this ability. It can be useful for chilling gameplay with friends, but if we talk about speedruns, the DPS you lose from that Barioth Chest is huge if you want to improve runs by seconds 😉

I'm so glad you finished a part 2! tbh, I didn't know that using the iai slash as a proper parry would allow double the refill time xD from what I'm understanding, you use iai slash at the beginning of the fight to have enough spirit gauge to do the foresight slash and get up to red gauge quicker, and deciding when to use iai slash vs. finishing the combo depends on your positioning? Ive gotten into a bad habit of mindlessly adding in iai slash that I have to break... and my positioning always sucks balls, because I always end up foresight slashing the wrong way where I can't take advantage of monster openings >_< its just a matter of practice and me not fumbling with my keyboard Dx I can imagine how difficult it is to edit all your material, and to voice over everything as well...! Thank you for taking the time to put all this together! I'll take whatever tips you can give me! If its more comfortable, I second the other person who suggested subtitles :) Looking forward to seeing more content, whether its more speed runs or mini tutorials/tips like these!

One thing you should know is if you use the skills that boosts affinity on drawing attacks (I don’t remember the name), it will boost your affinity when you do the R2 + X, so let’s say you re doing a combo, then you do R2 + X (counts as sheathing the weapon) and then you do R2, so the Iai slash, you will have a 100% chance of doing a critical hit (if the skill is at maximum), plus of you have a attack boost of 140% on critical hits, you will deal way stronger attacks on the monster.

I think we'll have to see with punishing draw now with Frostfang knocking on the door. The Barioth armor was nice in the beginning, but having to use two pieces on an armor set without any offensive skills is a bit hard. I myself am using a maximum might-frostcraft set with Velkhana setbonus on the longswords (yeah, using elemental longwords. Like them), but the Velkhana armor is already unflexible with the amount of slots. I am exited to try punishing draw-frostcraft when the frostfang is here. Just hoping that some pieces have criteye to use critical element. Also hoping the Velkhana Gamma is going to have either more slots or at least goes for easier usage of critical element. Definitely a very informative video on the special sheath attacks. I still struggle a bit with the iai slash, but am able to use the iai spirit slash nearly perfectly now.

@Ephemeraltrip4 жыл бұрын
Even if punishing draw were a lvl4 deco that only came with that skill and nothing else, I would probably still use it, that way you'd have to sacrifice some utility by using up a 4 slot for a single skill so it could be considered balanced maybe. I'd sign a petition or vote for that to have it implemented in a future update, so maybe if enough LS mains agree it could eventually happen?

Hey Peppo! Love the vids :) Learned a lot from it. I was wondering when the optimal timing is to perform a spirit iai slash. Can't seem to know when to press R2 on my dual shock to perform the parry. I either get hit and fly away, or there is no parry animation at all.
@SakaiYuji14054 жыл бұрын
For iai slasher honestly until now i still dont know when to press ∆ to perform the counter, but for the iai spirit slash if u pay attention to your character he/she took a tiny little bit of time to put their hand on the sword then doing the draw attack, all u need to do is wait for the monster to hit u exactly right before they put their hand on the sword to successfully counter the attack, its kinda hard to explain but just practice it u will get used to it
@PeppoLS4 жыл бұрын
I think you should consider the input delay of pressing R2. The input is triggered once you fully pressed R2, so probably this is why it seems so difficult to time correctly.

Tips on nailing the timing of the sheathe parry slashes? The timing feels weird or very tight.
@PeppoLS4 жыл бұрын
It’s extremely tight...
@niklasmitfussl26394 жыл бұрын
Practice on monsters that have very easy tells, or rather, attacks that have very tight timings aswell. What helped me a fair bit at the start is practicing and perfecting rolling through attacks. Once you know when the attack actually hits/when the active hitbox starts, figuring out the parry becomes alot easier afterwards as you already know exactly when the attack should connect. Two monsters I can always recommend for roll- and parry-practicing are Nargacuga and Zinogre since they both have very short hitboxes on most attacks that can easily be i-framed. (Nargacuga more so than Zino, but both work in my opinion.) TLDR: To perform perfect parries, one must first learn how to i-frame. Hope that helps!

The video was slightly difficult to understand because you when you were talking, a lot of animations are being played out on the background. I managed to understand what you're saying just fine, but I had to replay the video to see "With Iai" and "Without Iai". I do understand that it is difficult since you wanted a side-by-side comparison, but I think it's worth noting anyway. Also, do you think that Iai counter has too tight of a window to execute? Or do you think that it is fine being very difficult to master? So far, I can only reliably dodge Tigrex spin-move and Glavenus tail smash with it. My biggest problem is trying to learn how to Iai spirit counter monster roars, I usually get my counter interrupted mid-animation and I lose my red charge without damage being dealt.

If the monster gets behind you while you are in a combo means you fucked up because the monster will attack you, right? So just don't get stuck with lots of attacks, but reduce the hits and focus more on where monster goes ;)
@LordM4ver4 жыл бұрын
How do you deal with tall monsters like Glavenus? It's such a pain, if you want to deal any damage to the legs you gotta tenderize those, but if you want to make use of the trip you eventually get have to tenderize the head or tail too. I feel like I get better clear times on CB one some monsters than LS even though I literally have no idea what I'm doing on CB, constantly whiff SAED, miss all the guard points, and played it for maybe 2 hours out of 300. OctoJesus someone correct me if I’m wrong but I’m fairly certain you have minimal air mobility but you can control the direction of your hunter’s jump by pressing on the analog stick before your hunter jumps off of the monster for the slash. I think it’s an analog control independent of the camera and dependent on what direction your hunter is facing instead, too.

@PeppoLS4 жыл бұрын
Monsters’ patterns are incredibly hard to read here on Iceborne. They are not random, but after an attack, monsters have the possibility to do different attacks so you have to be ready for those attacks. The ability is not learning the move set of the monster only, but be ready and adapt yourself to the situation which is developing after “that” attack. Hope you understood 🙏🏼
