Great video peppo ! One thing about the park break mod on ISS: The part mod is 1.5 without any special conditions and if used as counter, gains a 1.3 multiplier. So 1.5 × 1.3 = 1.95 part mod on successful counter

Besides fixing the bugs in helm breaker and iai spirit slash, I think iai spirit slash should only receive partial (red) damage when successfully timing it. Makes no sense to get punished for well-timed inputs.

I jsut got back into LS, I always hopped back into it since I started in Tri and it was my main weapon. My friends did complain about it so much I swapped, but still drawn to it all the time. Man your LS guides are great. Since i bought the game last month ive been playing non-stop. SA, GS and LS are my favs by far, but despite wanting to learn more about LS i always fuck it up in the middle of the road. Last days been hard, Brachydios and BV Vaal Hazak are kicking my butt. At least now i know if i use Iai Spirit Slash sucessfully i wont waste a meter. After seeing so many LS speedruns ive been trying to figure out why they dont lose meter when using it.

Ooh, I learned a lot from this vid! had no idea about the extra part break stuff, so it was interesting! the delay after the roundhouse slash was interesting too! I've been using the ISS more in my runs, and without realizing, I've encountered that same but :< I was so confused because I was so sure I did it right since I still had red gauge, but I still got thrown back! I just thought that I messed up my timing...! Thanks again for all the hard work you put into making your videos!

ah yes, in my head when i first saw iai spirit slash "oh hey, cool, an alternative to helmbreaker, it doesn't deal as much damage but it seems solid" a few minutes into the video "so... iai slash is bugged" ..... what is this curse with halfbaked LS finishers

I have the same feeling that IS is more difficult to time than ISS but the data we have atm don't say anything about I-frames of IS and ISS, so they should have the same amount of I-frames as a roll.

How i look in my head/ wish i looked: Peppo. How i really look, ISS wrong timings, derp into monsters attacks, get a spirit thrust off when monster down they get back up and juke, go to helmbreak, get headbut or hip flicked, or monster just runs off

Despite the debate of few days ago I completely agree on watching speed runners to improve a lot with any weapon in the game. It really does help when it comes to little things that you never think of and helps you to learn monsters even better. Ottimo video come i precedenti, semplice e chiaro dritto al sodo. Quanto al dibattito che ce stato qualche giorno fa capisco la tua posizione ma allo stesso tempo ti consiglio di cercare di lasciare perdere con più leggerezza tutte le cazzate che scrivono sui casul. I giocatori che hanno intenzione di migliorare seriamente non perdono tempo a giustificarsi dietro una categoria, fanno pratica ed imparano dai più bravi. Non ci si può fare più di tanto, finisci per attirarti addosso più odio che altro. Piano piano la gente si accorgerà di quanto è profondo questo gioco e delle soddisfazioni che può dare anche dopo 1000h ma, purtroppo, la maggior parte dei giocatori non saranno comunque interessati a diventare veramente bravi. Per il resto continua sulla tua strada, è un peccato vedere un giocatore del tuo livello dover stare a discutere per queste cose, ogni tuo video sembra arte per le capacità che hai, non ti sprecare.

one thing more, there is a additional 1.3x part modifier of timed ISS, that means total 1.95x part modifier if you successfully use ISS in the correct timing.

in addition, attacks that cannot defense without guard up, hyper armor also couldn’t neglect it. like the ps4 part with ruiner’s spikes attack, you ‘land’ on the floor, not just blow out by the attack. the only reason sometimes you succeeded is because before your ISS’s ended, you move out from the range of spikes attack. you should perfectly use ISS that the very short should cover the whole range and time of that indefensible attack, to not get smashed on the floor.

for pc ISS bug…… someone report to me that the high fps MAY cause this bug. He get lower chance to have this bug after he limited his fps to 60

"one speed run is better than a thousand words of explanation" you're just being humble :P Roll-dodging has always been difficult for me, and the information you put out about the Iai slash having the same amount of i-frames was definitely helpful. At least now I won't be going into Iceborne thinking it'll be as easy as foresight slash.

The iai slash is not bugged, the problem is spacing the same thing goes for foresight slash. The invincibility frames last a very very short time so if you are too close to the bomb exploding or too far away you will be caught in the hitbox even when performed perfectly. I've tested this and can do a perfect iai slash parry a sword poke distance away but any closer and it gets sketchy. The window of invincibility seems to be more generous on foresight slash, than iai spirit slash. so you have to not only practice timing, but spacing as well. If you can consistantly pull off a perfect iai slash parry you are an LS God.

One bit of info thats usually useless is that you can turn yourself around using a slinger shot mid spirit slash combo. If youre positioning well its not that useful but if the monster turns then it could be useful.

in the clip with mr orangutan himself, u said u can only cancel with helm breaker (or the start up), and if u dont have an opening then what do u do? i think for that specific scenario u would have enough time to do the start up helm splitter to the side (perpendicular) and then roll out to cancel if he attacked again (also perpendicular). i use it to dodge sometimes when ive really fucked up xD but never during iss since i only use it regularly against monsters im really comfortable against but will defs try like that so thanks for the idea.

As always good content! The biggest problem i have with LS are the basic combos and the openers of them : there is/are basic combos to level hp the gauge before using the spirit sword? or you just tend to react to the monster’s movements?

Theres some combos meant to get you gauge as soon as possible. Personally, I open with triangle, circle, and then triangle+circle for the fade slash to reposition. If I do it on a monsters and land all three hits, chances are I'll have build up enough spirit gauge to do a full spirit slash combo.

So itll be an overhead slash, stab, then fadeslash to the side straight into spirit blade combo. :)

@@andreasecchieroli4945 exactly, it does. Plus, its so quick you can follow the stab with an upwards vertical slash (triangle), very quick attack. Thats one of the infinite combos for LS, too. Triangle, circle, triangle, circle, etc

For me it seems like the reason for the bug might be the direction your characters hitbox touches the incoming attack. if its from the front all is good but from top down or below u it seems to bug. Im really not sure though.

The ISS bug i get on xbox sometimes is taking damage even though I successfully counter. I still get the full animation, damage and don't lose a level of spirit gauge but I'll lose health from the attack on my character.
