In your rajang example with the pins In the first you countered through the side so you evade the active hitbox in 14 frames But in you second example you tried to go through rajang and were still in the active hitbox So it's not the distance to the hunter Or am I wrong here?
@PeppoLS4 жыл бұрын
@@Darko807 I said it's the distance between the Rajang and the hunter because during the first part of the pin, from when Rajang starts moving to where he actually grabs you, that hitbox lasts less than 14 frames, so you can evade it with ISS, BUT the final animation where he's basically still at the end, lasts longer than 14 frames so you can't ISS through it.

This was super interesting. I noticed recently that I wasn't using the the Iai spirit slash just because it feels so inconsistent, both the hits and my timing. I'm mostly using it when the monster attacks me while I happened to be in Iai stance. I am never really planning on using it. But thanks that was quite informative! I do hope they fix these delayed hits in future titles.

The first hit of ISS has 0 part value so that a flinch or tail cut or something like that won't make you miss the second hit... SO WHY ISN'T THAT THE CASE FOR HELMBREAKER

8:50 The reason you can time a thing is because you're not reacting blindly. You have context of your situation and are able to anticipate the monster attacking you. That said timing a 5 frame window is easier said than done in a game like monster hunter. But that's why 1 frame windows aren't impossible in other games such as fighting games or rhythm games. Beautiful guide! Really appreciate the effort that went into the video,all the information presented was easily digestible!
@SoysauceML3 ай бұрын
Exactly. I find it strange many people don't understand. Like people in devil may cry royal guard very consistently and it only has 6 frames window. Max-act is actually 1 frame. A combos in street fighter 4 have 2 frame links even if you count plinking.
@namjeff141915 күн бұрын
wow. you're telling me you can see attacks coming in video games and then predict the timing? that's crazy, who knew.

"The video ends here" is so much better than saying "The end" haha. Thanks for all the tips. I feel like I can become an LS speedrunner but I switch out my weapons too much which makes me a worse player I think overall (each weapon requires different timings for each monster).

The only helmbreaker openings with rajang are his laser and when he is stunned/knocked/hungry making ISS the best way to fight him, sometimes you'll get unlucky but whatever, his pin is bad anyway. The mind's eye you get from spirit attacks is also very helpful.

peppo sama i thought i could never reach the pinnacle of ls because despite being able to counter almost every move from almost every monster (only monster that i haven't gotten to yet is fatalis :D), i could never foresight the barrel in training. then i started to consecutively ISS and IS it but i was still baffled that i could not foresight it. what started as a truly glorious journey soon turned into dreaded dreams and hopes of overcoming a minute obstacle, for my arch nemesis was nothing but a barrel. and so a huge and furious battle began between the both of us as our weapons swept past each other, as crashes and explosions were raging on the field there was only but one winner... the barrel. I was on the verge of quitting my beloved best friend and turn to cb since it truly is the flashiest and i guess comparably challenging... untill i found your video!! and now i understand!!!! it was the devs all along, they added a second hitbox which would explain why my foresight would get interrupted by an explosion that literally happens after the barrel disappears. and now im back on track, on my road to greatness. for that i am forever grateful to you sensei peppo. thank you!

One thing I've learned about foresight slash anyways recently because I can only play base on Game Pass is this. Don't mind if you miss it, sometimes those s won't hit, but it'll still move your Hunter out of the way. These moves take practice and if you don't get it right don't hate yourself for it. Furthermore, I think another good tip is to understand that helm splitter is cool as hell and powerful, but it's also a bit overrated. Before World, people just wanted the attack boost at red. It's still not a bad way to go. I think you'll find that if you don't chase helm splitter as soon as you get red, but reserve it for your best opportunity, you'll whiff it less often.
