Thought I'd take on a challenge for myself, and see what my best time would be with a two week window.
Seeing as Ode to The Destruction has gone away for now, here's the best of my runs against the guy. It took a while for me to learn the balance between KO and spike breaks, but it's nice to know that you can judge his health by the divebombs, as they're health gated.
Took me a lot of tries man, but I'm happy that I got my sub 5.

You said you did a lot of tries, my question is. Did you finish the quest every time even if you get hit a lot? If you did what was your average time when the run wasnt perfect? Im starting to speedrun myself but man im suffering a lot against nergi, i cant get lower than 15 min. Sorry about the rant, you are awesome hunter

A lot of times no, I didn’t finish the quest if the script or the hits I took were too severe, for example if I missed the first KO or didn’t get a stagger in time. From there it’s a case of going with a good run and seeing where I can improve and get it down. If you’re not able to get below 15m it’s worth checking your set and where your hits are landing

So should I be prioritizing with attack boost or critical eye first? Is stamina thief worth it? I'm fairly new to mh and I just beat iceborne using mostly hammer but I am trying to mess with better builds for it now and I'm not sure where to start. Sick run btw. alan larison critical eye should be your priority, if you’re looking to deal damage you should aim to get to 100% affinity and then add in things like critical boost and sharpness mitigating skills like Masters touch. Remember if you’re starting out, adding health boost and evasion to help you learn move dodging can be incredibly helpful!

I ate for felyne slugger, made sure that my bigger attacks all connected with the head as well as the clutch claw, as it was essential that I got the KO before the first dive 👌🏻

Wait, is there a skill for monsters to miss so much of their attacks? For all I have experienced is that those dive spike attacks I really have to superman dive every single time unless it's directed to my palico but this run, all of nergs attack like that just misdirects that he doesn't even need to roll or anything, I dunno man maybe it's my reflex or anything but as far as I can remember those kind of attacks rarely miss it's target which is most of the time my ass

so, the monster is MR6. what's the MR of your gear ? also around MR6 ? or you're able to demolish it in just 4 minutes cause it's an MR6 monster and you're using MR70+ gear ?

Yeah, the star rank of the quest is 6. This is the highest star rank a quest can be. To undertake this quest, you need a master rank level of 100. This is a speedrun, where you fight monsters as fast as possible using the best gear available at the time. sai anvith Panchumarthy it’s absolutely a sidegrade. It comes so so close to shattercrusher that it doesn’t matter which one you use outside of complete optimisation, where safi slightly beats it out I believe

daniel camazon skills are shown at the end but it’s a standard Teostra masters touch set with a Safi Shattercrusher as the hammer, 100% affinity, Max agitator, Peak Performance etc

How do every player I see killing him make him trigger his spikes to the wrong side? How do you make it happen? And also the raging brach hammer isn't better than safi one?

Adrien Carrez what do you mean by trigger the spikes to the wrong side? Ruiner’s arm dive direction can be predicted by whichever arm he raises up higher during the initial roar, and it’s very easy to walk to the other side to avoid. This video was filmed before the Variant update, however I believe that Raging Brachy is only slightly better, if not equal to a Safi Shattercrusher.

The Legacy Ruiner always starts with white spikes on its right arm that you can break very early on, and every dive it does with its arm it grows white spikes on its head if they’re not already there. Make sure you’re focussing them as a priority.

The Legacy no problem. Honestly I never expected to get this far but if you demonstrate a decent amount of skill, have a decent amount of knowledge on the game and make correct and accurate videos then that’s all I can recommend. Make sure you’re proud of whatever you put out.

David Nora Navascues slot efficiency, they both have the same useable skills, whilst you get a lv4 slot with the MR one, the Gamma crown lets you get two points in something like Crit boost, which is way more useful than expert, that you can put in a lv1 slot

David Nora Navascues it depends on how much you’re getting hit. If you’re really struggling, go for the MR version, and drop one level of a skill. If you want to take this opportunity to improve you’re skills, go for the gamma!

Soul knight depends on the context of the set. Safi’s shattercrusher with 2 sharpness and 3 attacks is damn near identical to Raging Brachydios, but Safi’s hammer is the only one that lets you do Teo and Safi set bonus. If you don’t want to farm the siege, go for Raging Brachy
