I have an old 5.1 speaker setup for pc Creative Inspire T6060. I bought an optical to 5.1 analog convertor from amazon and connected the PC optical out to optical in of converter and tested a 5.1 test video and it works. Then I connected the TV Optical Output to optical in of converter, tested the same 5.1 test file and 5.1 did not work(audio comes from all speakers together no true 5.1). I tried various sound options in tv such as PCM, passthrough, dolby digital and dolby digital plus and nothing resolved the issue/ Now will this Mi Box 4K support 5.1 (Dolby Digital) via optical out?

I am using Mi Box S, also have SPDIF cable wchich I connects to my Samsung home theatre receiver luckily 10 years old one has SPDIF input. So far I tried few KZbin 3D test videos but my back surround speakers and subwoofer not giving any sound. Recently MP4 files also started carrying AC3 (5.1) audio, is there any way we can benifit , I tried them playing from USB of my dvd home thatre but it didn't opened them.
