You can tell how free her spirit was, her voice was powerful. Much like Janis Joplin. Imagine all the music she could have made, how much she could have evolved. Very sad that she died just as they were really starting to blossom.

One of the saddest things is to hear & see a mother or a father talk about one of their children who were murdered or died unexpectedly at a young age. The pain shoots out of their soul like the light from a lighthouse.

This video almost brings me to tears. I'm only 17 and I would have given anything to be alive and witness the true talent of Mia and the Gits. It honestly pains me to watch this video, knowing that such a talent was taken away from us in such a repulsive and heinous way.

I love what his dad says in the end "she now belongs to all of you and it's neat, I like it, I'm proud of her". This is so tragic...I'll call my daughter Mia. I fist learnt about the Gits from the Hype, documentary on Seattle bands (though I kind of knew about them because of Home Alive). When I saw the part when they do Bob (cousin o') I thought "Who is this woman?" and got really intrigued and listened and sure enough! She just moves you with her voice, UNBELIEVABLE!

@knockout68 Hey Knockout I wanted to first applaud you on the excellent film you have created here. I just recently saw and think it was absolutely amazing. I was 21 when this tragedy occured and was both a Gits and 7 year bitch fan. Your use of imagry and intersing juxtaposition of current and archival images was excellent. I never saw this band but I knew a lot of people who were impacted by her loss. I volunteered for the benefit event in San Francisco at Cyclone Warehouse and shortly thereafter started putting on all ages shows in Palo Alto. I've been doing that for 27 years. Maybe there could be a grant at Antioch College for people who want to put out their own music, in her memory.

@@shawnrekiel7186 "primarily"? What does that mean? From what I know, the 27 club includes any artist who died at 27, I don't think there are no other "rules" than that ... *I get your point tho, most of them did died "via their own self destructive tendencies" but I'm not sure about that being "a "rule" to be in the club In my opinion, if you're popular then die at 27 no matter how, you're in! *Robert Johnson is the best exemple of that, he's in the club althought no one know how he actually died
