Your first rule is the best rule! I call myself the queen of returns. I always keep my receipts for the timeframe that the store allows returns for those just in case or in my case the inevitable return!

We have a cut-off value of $30 for listing on marketplace. We find that anything under that amount isn't worth the time or hassle to set up pick up times etc. Anything under that amount goes to goodwill or the donation box at our recycle location. Honestly, dealing with buyers on marketplace can be so frustrating. We're considering moving up our cut-off to $50 just to avoid dealing with people. If something sits for a couple of weeks without selling we take the listing down and either give it away or donate it.

That makes sense! I’ve had a similar experience selling on marketplace.

Thanks for your video! I like the part about returning things. It’s a good contrast to the people who say don’t save receipts or don’t return things. If I don’t like it, I return it. Even if it’s five dollars or less. Money is tight in this economy - in any economyactually. I wealthy relative Scott that way because they watched how they spend their money.

Thank you for this. I always find it odd that some people always say that minimalism is a hard to do when its as simple as seeing what you need vs what you want because buying and having a lot of things dont actually make you happy but more stress. I have had a mindful minimalist mindset since I was young because I feel everything should have a place in your lif it certainly makes moving to a new place or packing for vacation way easier. 😊

I don’t buy much and like to buy good quality products if I need anything. I don’t have a high income (about 25000 a year), but I rather like to save up for a good product just to enjoy it for a long time. My washing machine and my fridge are top quality products but I have them already for 28 years by now and they still work great.

That's awesome! (I wish I could say the same for my washing machine but I didn't buy it. It came with the house)

Everything I see at the store when I’m browsing is on a “interview” has to make the cut, has to have value and somehow “work” for the purpose it’s supposed to be used for, if nothing qualifies I happily leave the store doors content 🎉

I researched for a month for a vacuum sealer to replace my 4yr old 1 that is hard to use and has a burn spot on the seal strip (I need a new 1) decided on the Nesco found it on Amazon waited till Christmas to see if it would go down it did but I wanted to see if it would go less. They ran it on sale for 94$ from 149$ SOLD!!!!! I may be a little extreme but I love the research and seeing if I can get a good deal. But I also want quality

That is such a great deal! I'm always so happy when I find something I want on sale. (I’ve done very similar scouting lol)

I return lots of things. Amazon probably doesn’t like me either.

Haha I told my husband that I think Amazon is still coming out ahead

I am fairly good at returning items although sometimes when you try to return items online, the store will give you a refund and just tell you to keep the item. Target does this alot. Of course, I do try to donate the item. 🙂

I've had that happen! It's how I ended up with an extra rug. No complaints here. We use it!

I had to watch this after the twitter quote "Minimalism is a scam by big Small to sell more Less"
