Miah's Morning Homestead Routine | A day in the life at Roots and Refuge |

In this video I'm taking you guys around the farm for my daily routines, responsibilities and chores. Everything from morning coffee to moving chinking coops and milking cows. If you have ever wondered how the ins and outs of our animals work here at Roots and Refuge you'll want to watch this video.

This morning my homeschooled children and I watched your video -- and they were ENTHRALLED. It was *wonderful* to see how chores work on a farm (we live in a neighborhood in Colorado Springs, and they have never been to a farm to see how animals are raised and cared for.) Their FAVORITE part was watching the chicken coops be moved, and trying to count all the chickens! Thank you SO much for taking the time to shoot this video. It was *way* better than the very "crafted" documentary sort of show that kids are often given to understand how life works.

Great to see the bird’s eye view of the farm as you traveled around, it puts the whole homestead in perspective for me! It definitely is a lot of area to cover and glad you have the side-by-side as you carry feed to the animals! It would be cool to get to see the horses trained and used to help you move cattle at some point! Great job and congratulations on stepping into content creation! My husband and I have been married for 40 years. I’ve always said he is my kite string. He keeps me grounded with his routine, hard work ethics, and wisdom. I try to be a good helpmate by hard work and making good decisions but I also keep him fun with my creativity, laughter, and love. Marriage is harmony when done right. So I love him being my kite string and keeping me grounded as long as I can be the colorful ribbons on the kite and keep things pretty and fun. I love routing also! It keeps me organized. 👩‍🌾💚🪴🥬🍓

I loved this video! We also have a diversified farm and I really enjoyed seeing your routine, and seeing what works for you. We are always looking for ways we can improve our flow and sometimes it's easy to get stuck in a routine, so seeing someone else doing things a little different gives us ideas to improve or reinforce that the way we are doing something might be best for us. Loved watching what you have to do with the animals among so many other chores. Wish my hubby could do all that but then he is almost 81. He does do a lot but nothing that massive. Love the video. Doing a weekly or monthly chore routine would be great! Weekly would show a more in depth of each animal over time, monthy would highlight differences in chores and accentuate season and farm changes.

It's so interesting to watch you doing the chores Miah! My grandma had a milk cow, turkeys and chickens which she would help milk and hatch, so I've heard some stories of what it entailed to feed, and raise those animals in sickness and health. This gives us a good perspective of your entire homestead... and it's so admirable of Jess and yourself to bring your dreams into fruition, kudos!
