@@daisyo.6666 Yeah, but she also took away a bedroom to make the laundry room which hurts resale value. She could finish the basement and make 2 guest rooms, a bathroom and small den. Bathroom already has water hook up if they just use were the old laundry was. Even if they just use one as a room and the other for storage, as long as they're legally bedrooms it'd increase the value of their home.

I think it’s definitely a space they will get better use of. My mother’s W&D was in the basement and it got to the point she would throw her laundry down the steps in a pillowcase then walk down. As time went on (as she got older), I started doing her laundry and even I didn’t want to go into the basement. Her house was also postwar design and built.

After working in the vended laundry business for 20 years, that vent pipe was the stuff of nightmares!!! They are SO lucky not to have a fire. Please everyone, check and clean your dryer vents regularly!!! Awesome job on the renovation. I’m so glad they will no longer have to navigate those basement stairs to do laundry.

We are finally getting to makeover our daughters room, we are buying a bed, we are thinking about how we can make the space work for her. She has autism, is 5, I was just wondering if anyone had anyone neat ideas. They don’t have to be autism centric, i just put it out there in case anyone found some *cheaper* items that just makes sense for autism. We don’t want to pay duty. We are in Ontario. Hey there. You can try out the kids egg chair that is at Ikea. It closes up for those moments when she might feel too overstimulated and just wants some quiet time. A lot of kids on the spectrum also like bean bags, but they can be expensive. I really like the yogibo beanbags. Some kids on the spectrum like to "crash" themselves into a beanbag, or they provide a squishing/pressure feeling when they sit in it. Have fun! You know your daughter best and she's lucky to have you :)

I think it could be a good idea to run the textures/colours/shapes by her so she can know what’s going on and make sure she’s comfortable with them! Asking her what she wants will help prevent meltdowns/sensory overload/allowing her to be comfortable in her space.
