The reality we have is nothing changes in front office and I doubt McDaniel will be fired so next year we will still have no OL or DL that will be good enough. The deficiencies will not be filled properly still will have old broken players. Team will be 8-9 or 9-8 next year. Maybe after 2025 Grier will be finally let go but until he is gone we can just expect a medium team with little chance of winning playoff games and barely make it in each year.
@joeblog2672Күн бұрын
Grier has to bring in a dominant punishing OL. Right now the only guy I'm sold on who can play that way from our OL is Austin Jackson. Brewer might be able to run middle with better guys beside him. Liam Eichenberg cannot be on this roster next year. He cannot win against better defenses even in a reserve role much less a starting role. Robert Jones can compete for a backup job as he has had flashes of competence against decent defensive fronts. Armstead and Lamm will be gone. I think Wynn is already gone whether he knows it or not. So that's at least three starting spots that have to be filled. McD for his part has to simplify the offense. This should not be a problem if a dominant OL is put in place. I think there is too much put on Tua and the WRs to hook up on fancy option routes. Just run the ball and send the speedsters deep a lot more often and bomb it to them! Good things will happen. Instead we have a dink and dunk offense supported by a lousy line. Who the hell runs an offense where 25% of passing all year is thrown (forward) to receivers behind the LOS??? If Grier and McD cannot or will not make those changes for next year then they have to go and new guys who can do those things need to come in and get it done quickly!

@joeblog2672Күн бұрын
I'm not sold on Tua either though I still think Miami is floundering to give him a good healthy OL and a proper offensive scheme. I think McD has complicated this offense too much without offering the OL support any QB would need to run this offense. I don't think Allen, Mahomes, Hurts... would be much better than Tua with this line in front of him. If Tua had a dominant line like he did to start 2023 (before the injury collapse of the line), I believe we could beat some of the better teams. I like a lot of who Grier has brought into the team but we are going nowhere without a punishing dominant line and he should know that. So should McD. Personally I think we need to invest heavily on OL. We got the weapons already in Hill, Waddle, Jonnu Smith, Achane and Mostert. Give Tua the time he needs and I think he will do better. This MUST get done next year. I don't want to see Eichenberg or that RT today on our team next year. Robert Jones better have a helluva a camp next year if he wants a reserve role. Wynn is probably already retired in perhaps just doesn't know it yet. So basically, we are looking at three starting spots that MUST be filled next year by outside players / draftees. And then we have to keep them healthy. This is another knock I have on the McD era. If McD and Grier cannot or will not make OL priority #1 for next year then it is time to make room for a duo that can and will! And if we do that, then we will have the final judgment on Tua.
@UlisesS-t4l14 сағат бұрын
At this point can we really call them haters??!

Tua is turning into a screen passing dink and dunk QB. A majority of his passes are screen passes and throws underneath in the middle of the field. This style of spot throwing is exactly what leads to Tua throwing 3 INT's against a good defense. Good defense's just sit a spy in the middle and pick off his spots. I think teams have figured out that Tua can't read defense's on the fly. If teams can read his spot throwing that's really what puts Tua out of his element because he doesn't have a counter for it other than throwing screens.

I've often thought of that. Had the league been drawn up with all those AFC south teams present, I'm sure the league would have followed the geography and made that swap. Of course only the Houston Oilers were around when the 1970 merger took place and they were put in the old AFC central division. I don't think such a swap would work due to the intense rivalries that have built up between Miami and the Jets, Bills and Patriots. I'm not sure how the other three AFC east teams rival each other besides the Bills and Jets being charged up but Miami's rival games are super charged and have been that way for as long as I go back with the team (1981). Losing the two Jets and Bills games every year would be a huge loss in historically built up rivalries that never could get replaced within a new division for many many years. For me the thought of NOT having to hate the Jets twice a year is utterly depressing!

Tua arm strength does not take advantage of speed unless it’s a screen pass. Tua needs a receiving core full of Jonnu Smith’s. Big bodied receivers that can high point the catch. Joe Philbin was coach for 3 years and 4 games in his 4th year when he got fired.. In Adam Gase year 3 we were 6-10 then he got fired when the year ended. McDaniel is headed toward a 6-11, 7-10 season. McDaniel has done nothing to prove he's a good head coach. He's a glorified QB coach. He's Adam Gase. Ross is incapable of hiring good football people because he's more concerned about utter loyalty in the organization than performance. That's a Steve Ross personality issue and he can't manage people because he can't handle an employee that has strong opinions and doesn't kiss his ass. The story was that he was upset that Parcells didn't say hello to him in the hallway and was afraid of him. The same stories came out about Flores. He can build buildings and buy real estate because it's not a human interaction. And nobody in their right mind thats good with football players wants anything to do with him as their owner and boss. That's why we got Mcdaniel. No other interviews because he wasn't qualified to be. a head coach. Frankly, I don't think there's a damn thing we can do as fans to hope this ever changes. Eventually, Ross might sell his majority to a hedge fund manager who is actually worse. Just think about that.....we are at the point that Ross could hire John gruden because nobody else will take the job.

I'm not gonna jump on Tua. This goes back to roster construction and organizational decision making. I don't understand how we can decide to pay a small, unathletic, fragile qb with an average arm without even trying to build a wall to protect him, and committing to a more balanced style of offense. This franchise needs to either change philosophies and build a more complete roster, or they need to start swinging until they find a game changer at qb who can make up for the team's deficiencies. If there isn't major changes to the identity of this team, and the gimmicky offense, they might as well fire McDaniel. Start getting ahead of the old roster and ballooning salary cap hits that are coming. Trade away players, take your cap lumps and get as many picks as you can. We can find good, young players in the mid to later rounds. They just need to see the field.

Chris Grier needs to go now, and Ross just sell asap. You have learned NOTHING in 16 years as majority & controlling officer in the team corporation. If you offer up Mcdaniel & grier again, next year as the dolphins gm & as coach & GM, you will lose my confidence, and tens of thousands of DolFans support. We will stop buying season tickets, gear and stadium tix and concessions product. Guaranteed a deep cut in your profits

Come on don’t buy the party line. PeeWee needs to be fired tomorrow with Grier. They are killing us. Enough, how much misery can we take?

Trash analysis. Offensive line play, or QB play? Which was worse? Can you have a strong offensive line when we put so much money elsewhere? And please say Tua is not it, he and McDaniel both. We were still in it until the interceptions started coming.

Ahh Jon Gruden HC, Brian Dabol OC, can keep Weaver as DC. GM Kyle ??? I wanted Justin Herbert, screaming for J Jefferson, pounding table for Winfield, begging for Is Jonathan Taylor. Got not one of them, Turn the TV off through the remote control into the wall, We're it stayed for to days. That means said I think Tua would be better without McDaniel's 🤓

So much for giving players every other day off in camp to prevent injuries later in the year. Can we start posting 25 all over the locker room as a reminder how many years of failure it's been?
