House calls are cool but it’s the in between that matters. How good is he at finding the hole? Can he get the extra yard or 2 upon contact? Yeah the speed cool until 3&2 turns into 4&2 on your 30 yard line. Or when a play has the potential to be a house call but he gets swallowed up early bc he hit the wrong hole. Practice doesn’t equal game, but there had to be something critical they saw in practice that made em not wanna put him on the field. Some players can look really good on their really good plays but how ugly is their ugly plays?

No hard feelings about any of these guys leaving. I'm thankful for them having chose to come to Miami. It's a good thing for them and maybe they can get more playing time elsewhere. We've got a bit more depth in some areas now, where we didn't have it before. We're going to lose even more, it's just part of the way things are now. When I'd watch a Louisville game this year, as long as we weren't playing them, I pulled for Don to do well. When I'd watch an SMU game, well, i pulled for damn near the whole team since that's where a lot of our guys went to along with Rhett. I have no hard feelings against them. And it's kinda funny, but yeah.. I'm proud of them because they are like 'West Miami' and I want all of our guys to do well. In the Marine Corps it's always been "Once a Marine, Always a Marine"... in college football (to me anyhow) it's always been "Once a Hurricane, Always a Hurricane".

Live by the portal and die by the portal. UoM did well last year portal wise, but the team managers seem to lose the winning edge tolerating a mediocre defense standard. The portal never replaces the talented players that just love playing at the school of their choice and plan a life without football. I was a canes fan in elementary school growing up near the Miami airport. I knew even then I'd go the UofM as a student which I did. I only left for graduated school up north because U of M didn't have what I wanted to do. I hate the portal, and I hope they come up with a system which slows the process down a bit and take $ down a peg or two and stop making big universities minor league pro leagues.
