How appropriate Miami Vice was a part of the 80's especially with the rise of MTV. Miami Vice was a groundbreaking series that masterfully used music and visuals to tell their stories. Still one of the best crime dramas ever. In addition to Jan Hammer's evocative scores and the use of music of the era, to the acting, storylines and characters. Sonny and Rico are one of the most iconic duos in television history. Definitely must see TV. Want to get all their seasons on DVD. Wish it was in reruns where I am.

Ferrari had a fit! It wasn't a real Daytona. Arguing back and forth. So Ferrari gave them a real one. The real Daytona was way more expensive
I don't get why they can't still make crime dramas like Miami Vice. I don't think CSI or Criminal Minds ever had a scene as deep and atmospheric as this.
@MrAmpsycho6 жыл бұрын
It's time consuming and expensive to set up shots they way Miami Vice did. Takes a ton of lighting and a director of photography who knows what they're doing. Modern audiences don't know the difference, so nobody bothers. THIS, on the other hand was produced by the incredible Michael Mann(Manhunter, Heat, etc). It will never be this good on network TV again.

It's because this show was more like a music video. In fact, it was originally pitched to NBC as MTV COPS, not Miami Vice

My uncle who is a retired FED, [and an Award-Winning target and sharp-Shooter] knows that man, JIM ZUBIENA, but his Fitting Nickname is LIGHTNING JIM, ZUBIENA because he is a real bad ass in weapons. He also 'speaks' in Michael Mann's Film "MAN HUNTER" (1986) William Peterson, Kim Griest, DENNIS FARINA, TOM NOONAN and ZUBIENA'S Speaking voice, let's just say, he should have been in a lot more productions of Television and Film. Someone check me on this but this seems to be one of the first tv series that didn't speed up footage to make cars look fast, they actually drove them fast. I can't stand watching an older car chase and you can tell the footage was sped up to look faster.
