Both Gina & Trudy (Saundra Santiago and Olivia Brown) were beloved on the series. No way was anything going to happen to them, though there were a number of close calls.

Garcelle Beauvais (whose scene was actually cut from the episode) would later play Gabriella in "The Maze". She is also one of several Miami Vice guest stars to appear in Michael Mann's 1986 film Manhunter, alongside Bill Cwikowski (from "No Exit"), Chris Elliott (from "Down for the Count (Part II)"), Dennis Farina (from "One Eyed Jack", "Lombard" and "World of Trouble"), Kim Griest (from "Nobody Lives Forever"), Michele Shay (from "Theresa" and "Badge of Dishonor"), Bill Smitrovich (from "Brother's Keeper" and "The Prodigal Son") and Jim Zubiena (from "Calderone's Return (Part I)"). Miami Vice regular Michael Talbott also had a small role in the film, although his single scene was deleted from the theatrical cut of the movie.

0:35 look closely and you can see the stuntman almost flying out of the car as it hits the jumps Side note, why do so many American intersections have such severe crowns in the road? Guaranteed suspension wrecker in any car chase...

Cities leave them that way to discourage speeders. My former hometown of Phoenix has them and has put speed bumps on a number of residential streets.

They're sometimes put (or left) there on purpose to deter speeding. We have one on my street, with a sign ahead, to warn drivers before they hit it...

These “dips” also help directing water to storm drains during heavy rains. We have a lot of these around in Los Angeles, and you have to be careful when driving across intersections indeed, for they are not always clearly mentioned on street signs.
