Very helpful video. My model is a 2008 GS. The screw is placed differently on the left side of the handle, but still the same way to tight the latch. Can't wait to drive it with the top to validate if the rattle will disappear.

Anyone ever find/fit wind deflectors onto the hardtop itself on the side windows, it’s annoying that even with new seals all around it still lets in water if you power hose the roof

Hmm, not sure about the wind deflectors but you might want to make sure that you have your side windows adjusted properly after the new seals. There are a lot of adjustments that can help with wind and water intrusion. I wish you shows us more about the adjustment on the Frankenstein bolts, because it appears I have nothing to screw the "plate" into and I find the confusing.

You are missing the nuts, they are like 5 bucks a piece and goes on the underside of the rear latches

The plastic locking retainers are broken on both of my latches. Is there a way to fix that without replacing the latches?

I have one striker plate that looks worn. Can I just buy new striker plates for my top? I have a ‘99 Mazda miata. What is the technical name for these in researching ordering?

Striker plates are the metal sockets the top attaches to on the car. Chances are you're talking about the top lock cap, it's more of a wear item. We have a video on how to rebuild the top latch that shows more of the various parts and might help identify your problem.
