Just discovered your channel today and I subscribed! Exactly the kind of news I want! I just purchased a '21' GT Softop manual on New Year’s Day and I’m in Love. I’m glad to hear your views on Mazda's strange choices in terms of exterior color and the direction they went. I was looking for a new car but color choices are SO important to me, sometimes I won’t purchase because of the Colors they offer. I wanted the Poly metal grey (which I bought) and 2022 was the last of them. There are other colors I would have preferred, but this color at least was interesting because when the sun hits it it’s blue, and on the other side it would be grey. When I think of the most egregious colors offered on this Iconic, sporty zippy, fun to drive convertible I want to scream. 2 different Whites, a dark blue so dark you would swear it’s black, depressing grey from the 1990's, black, and a color that looks like phlegm and dirt were mixed together. And of course the beautiful Soul Red that is now 9 years old and needs to be updated. (How about the beautiful Artisan Red with a tan top and interior?) How about British Racing Green and tan top? Or medium blue that stays blue even in the dark? Orange that was so popular on the '19 special edition? Yellow, or even simple Bright red? I don’t want to insult anyone’s color choice, I’m lamenting about Mazda's choices. What’s like able to me may not be like-able to you. Everyone has different tastes and I respect that. I’m just saying I wish there were brighter colors offered. But hey, at least Mazda took a chance. And further (lol😂), Mazda's marketing team fell on their butts way back on the intro of the Miata. Right from the beginning they should have offered a model much like the new Spirit Racing. This would have nipped it in the bud that a Miata is too soft and not for Men. It would have been the performance icon it should have been from the start. I know they have the Club now but it’s not the Ultimate Upper level it needs to be. There should have been many performance models that looked tough over the years. And finally they failed on getting rid of their'ZOOM ZOOM' Slogan which EVERYONE repeats today when you mention Mazda. It was a perfect slogan. I know Mazda wanted to go in a different direction with more upscale luxury brand and that’s ok, just maintain your Sports car division too. (PLEASE bring back an RX7, 8, 9.) or another level up on a performance model other than the Miata, to maintain your heritage. Cross my fingers for production of the new prototype. Thanks for letting me vent!😮‍💨

I had a British green and tan interior in the early 90s and wish they would make that combo again . I have a white 2022 gt convertible and looking forward to getting a 2025 when they come out . Hope they make the British green again .

As the owner of an ‘01 SE BRG over tan with tan top, I couldn’t agree more! If they don’t make a new BRG/tan I may make one myself with a wrap! Although I do love the simplicity and analog experience of my NB.

I’ve had two roadsters, soul red and a blue-gray. I will order a 2024 mx5 in the next few weeks but I need help deciding on the color combination..lI will either get black with tan top and tan interior, OR, aero gray ( new color) with a terracotta interior.What would you choose/ recommend? John

I'm thinking about buying the refreshed/updated MX-5/Miata RF 6-MT in late 2024 or 2025. I would rather see a hardtop instead of the RF, since I wouldn't be opening it up anyway & worry about the greater possibility of water leaks & such via the presence of the retractable roof.

I haven't heard of leaking issues with the RF.. I know a lot of owners and haven't heard that complaint.

I'd really like to see a new shade of blue with the tan interior. There is a blue option for the club, but it only comes with a black interior. I'm also not really a fan of black wheels and would like other wheel choices.

Couldn't they put the sensor thing in the grill in the middle so that the front stayed symmetric? And start-stop technology is HORRIBLE.

I thought about that myself.. one of the first mods I would want is the Spyder grille, and then I started trying to figure out where that would go... then again, how much will this do with a manual transmission?

Every country in the world will get slightly different specs depending upon how they negotiate with Mazda Japan. I’ve ordered the GT roadster due to arrive in Sydney march April this year and the tan interior only comes in the automatic RF version. Also MIATA, not since 2005 and only then in America everywhere else it’s a MX5 ( Mazda experiment number five). Don’t forget utube is international. We’re all watching 😊😊.

Mazda's marketing in the US still refers to it as a MX-5 Miata. I only have access to the US Market info, so that's what I report for the most part. Maybe one day I'll have the time and resources to cover other markets, but the channel is currently a one man operation and I have a day job.

Have had radar/adaptive cruise on other cars and it was great, tried it on a Mazda CX5 some time ago and it was not so good, got down to about 5MPH, beeped and handed control back to driver, hope they’ve improved that, although it doesn’t matter for the MX5 as it’s limited n a manual trans anyhow and I’d not touch an auto MX5

The 2024 changes have me thinking about a trade in until I saw the sticker. The prices have really gone up since Buying in early 2017 ( 2016 MX-5 Club soft top ). Now if I can get over the price I'm in.

It's still pretty much in line with the value of a dollar, and actually a better deal than the 1990 models were. I know a lot of people complain about the price but consider this: originally, Mazda intended the Miata to be limited production, and they were so popular some guy paid $40k for one back in 1990. Then a few months later Mazda changed their mind and that guy's deal might as well have been lighting money on fire.

I know Miatas are supposed to be small, lightweight, and nimble fun cars…but is there ANY way to stay true to this philosophy while also accommodating taller drivers such as my 6’2 self? Technically I can fit in one but it really is constricting and claustrophobic.

I think that's what they were going for with the NC Miata, but it ended up being one of the least popular. It is by far the most spacious of the generations they have made, but it's one of the heaviest. The current generation definitely won't get larger, but no ideas on the next one.

I would be happy with just about anything that isn't white, grey, biege or black, or isn't so dark that it might as well be black. Right now, the only color I can choose from is Soul Red.

Sometimes they just screw up a good thing, “ Mazda spirit”why even change Mazdaspeed?it noted for Performance.. I don’t know if it’s a copyright infringement or a lawsuit involved but Mazdaspeed works well for me. and Mazda has always ended a great car with the last hurrah like the RX -7 spirit R, I think they’re gonna do the same with the Miata before electrification.. and that’s the one I’d like to have.I would not take a chance on it being available. I am planning to buy a club with the brembo BBS package i’m not sure which color and if they come out with that Mazdaspeed version after that at the end of the run I’m gonna be very upset, because I would’ve wanted…I have looking since 2016,this is my last because I want nothing to do with the electrification.

I can't see Mazda doing anything radical with the Miata. I don't believe it will be full electric, either. I am willing to wait until Mazda unveils it to make the call.

The biggest improvement Mazda could make for Miata owners is to feature lighter interiors. Tan, beige or terra cotta should be available on all trim lines. Burning your buns on a black interior in August is no fun. Why all the black? Answer: Because all colors of recycled materials can end up black. That “new” interior seat in black probably came from a wrecked Karman Ghia.

Had a 04 Mazdaspeed Miata. Great car. Had 2020 BBR Club. Liked it. But was too small for me. Sold it. Seat was all the back. Could not recline. Need to make NE bigger. And more power

If you don’t like that color, feel free to say so, but you can’t label the color a disaster. Use your brain a bit and understand that it’s subjective, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Zircon Sand is personally a unique color to me that suits not only the MX-5 but all Mazdas. So, be more careful next time because your jokes are quite tasteless.

I guess you shouldn't watch my User Comments video or my 2023 Options video.. on second thought, maybe you should. Anyway.. I don't think telling me what I can or can't do, then implying I'm not using my brain is a good way to start that conversation. Certainly not a way to persuade someone. The reality is controversy creates engagement, which makes my channel grow, so I would rather offend the sensitive than placate them and have it hurt my channel growth. I would suggest the idea that a person's thoughts about a color are not something worth getting offended over. I don't care if you like Zircon Sand, just like you shouldn't care that I don't like it.
