I felt this was one of the saddest moments in the office showed why Erin adores Michael so much she considers him her Dad and he realises and loves her like a daughter

I didn't think he loves her that much, I just think he felt sorry for her and decided to care a little more. Remember Secretary's Day, he flat out says he thinks she's weird and doesn't seem to like spending time with her.

@@arturomillan thats a character grow, this is the moment Michael realizes Erin cares for him and that makes a 180° turn on his feelings for her although in a fatherly way, remember two factors: one, his desire to have children, and two, his desire to love someone and to be reciprocated in the same way, as when Holly came to his life.

"why? I'm not your father." Bruh that's a dagger to the heart. And for Erin to hear that must hurt very much since she grew up in a foster home, Ellie Kemper's reaction was perfect. This is so adorable, sad and funny at the same time.

This scene is the pinnacle of story telling. Erin had always treated Michael like her father, while Michael didn’t understand consciously, he sort of has a faint sense of it, and once he said the words of “I’m not your father!” Everything became clear, all unspoken love came to have form. Instead of apologising and leaving the situation even more awkward, he immediately accepts the role of father and act it out, meanwhile Erin instantaneously took on the role of daughter, the dynamic was natural and smooth as butter. Props to the writers and to the actors, this scene is majestic.
@nosleepnosleep2624 Жыл бұрын
It's been established since the 2nd season that all Michael wanted was to have his own family. So if there's anything that's going to override his love for everyone's attention, it's the fact that someone out sees him as a father-figure. Exceptional writing, really.

actually I think a lot of what makes the dynamic between Michael and Erin so great is the fact that he's old enough to be her father, he always wanted kids and never had any, and she always wanted parents and never had any. There was a legitimate surrogate parency

I love the writing for this scene because michael has never had children but always wanted them while erin has never had parents but always wanted them. The most genuine and interesting thing is how michael says things that are the most stereotypical in shows and she responds in kind. So even though it might not be the most personal interaction because there wasn't a real father-daughter dynamic that a real pair would have, it comes off extremely genuine as that's how they both see that dynamic as

Michael Scott doesn't have money, but what he does have are a very particular set of skills. Skills he has acquired over a very long career. Skills that make him a nightmare for people like Gabe. If Gabe doesn't harm Erin that'll be the end of it. Michael will not look for Gabe, he will not pursue Gabe, but if Gabe does, Michael will look for him, Michael will find him and Michael will kill him.
