There is no autotune. The guy has superb vocal control. Anyone who thinks he's using autotune has never used autotune and clearly doesn't understand how it works. You'd be able to tell by the notes he's hitting. Source: I'm a music producer and engineer.

I'm not disputing he is a great singer, as i've seen him, but just want to point out that autotune is not always used to do the "WILL.I.AM" effect, and is in fact used live quite often. This is from someone who works in the industry so i can promise you this is true. There is definitely some autotune on there, but the tolerance on it will be so high that it means when it does retune it is only helping push him up or down a fraction to hit the notes perfectly

i just watched world on a string .. and this video .. and then i watched an american idol performance with this dude which sounded like he didnt have it but wasnt pitch perfect like this .. i guess when it gets down to it most people cant hear the auto tune coming through .. the computeryness of it .. but ive seen these videos before i never noticed it but what can i say .. i mustve developed listening capacity beyond the average joe who thinks he doesn't auto-tune .. no studio monitors needed .

People have negative attitudes towards autotune because we're so used to some singers using it as a crutch. But then there's artists who actually use it to be creative and produce a unique sound. I'm simply pointing out a fact. The fact that the performance was tuned doesn't mean I think Bublé is a hack or a fraud, he likely has absolutely no control over the final product. This performance was no doubt funded by a television company who wanted the performance to be perfect to the point of inhumanity. Again, I'm not doubting Michaels talent, which he has a lot of, I'm simply pointing out that this finished, aired product is blatantly edited.

not enough range in his voice ...possibly another pop culture wonder, but you've really got to put out a song that can be played over and over on the radio and people don't tire of it. Decades later, it's still something. The song didn't move me at all, and I'd have to say that Sinatra did at least inspire me to eat out at an Italian restaurant at times. I won't say much about 'auto-tune', there were parts where he sounded like a mixture of voice and synthesizer.

This, and all other performances by Michael from this show are blatantly and without a shadow of a doubt pitch-corrected. As a recording and mix engineer I have personal, hands on experience with vocal pitch correction like this on a daily basis. There is no doubt in my mind that somewhere along the line, most likely post-production between this show being recorded and aired, an engineer has treated the vocal track by means of pitch correction. Now, that said, I'm not trying to diminish Michael.

Actually you are wrong. Auto-tune works by sustaining the note you sing to it's most perfect pitch. You don't have to sing "out of tune" for it to work
