I think there is an argument to what he is saying. He reduced separation between Charles and him to mitigate the submission attempts. Charles would have more grappling success if Chandler did not hold Charles the way he did. It does not make Chandler look any better, though. It shows that he was not trying to win.

So I put together a seven leg parlay for the final 7 fights that night I got every single one of them correct. The odds were 1,040 I put $100 down making my pay out astronomical. Chandler is always super fun to watch but a really dirty fighter overall.
