Brother Wayne does say to be careful ascribing the suffix "ite" to a Nephilim tribe, as the IsraelITES are obviously not a tribe of giants, and some tribes that end in "im" are Nephilim tribed like the Anakim for example.

What's wrong with taking the simple meaning of the sentence? God is shown as judging and punishing the various nations and peoples of the world. He clearly does not punish a people or nation as soon as they have any sin, or they all would have been wiped out. He leaves them to the effects of their sin, but does sometimes judge and punish them for specific actions or for arriving at an especially notorious level of sin. So saying, "the degree at which the Amorites have become so sinful that I must remove them has not yet arrived," works perfectly well with the rest of divine revelation.

God tells us the whole world has broken His covenant, as it is written, "The earth is also polluted by its inhabitants, for they transgressed laws, violated statutes, broke the everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live in it are held guilty. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left." (Isaiah 24:5-6). By no means is there any salvation except through God's revealed Word, which is Jesus Christ, but He still makes temporal judgments on nations. Indeed, it is written that if God warns a nation and they repent He will relent concerning the calamity coming to them, as Jeremiah prophesied (Jer. 18:5-10) and Jonah witnessed, for it is written, ""When God saw their deeds, that they turned from their wicked way, then God relented concerning the calamity which He had declared He would bring upon them. And He did not do it. (Jon. 3:10). Otherwise, we would be in a world where God only cares about justice for the saints. But we do see that nations are judged. Here is an example: "Son of man, set your face toward the sons of Ammon and prophesy against them, and say to the sons of Ammon, ‘Hear the word of the Lord GOD! The answer to this question is in Exodus 20, and also in bits of Leviticus and Deuteronomy. “Visiting the iniquity of the fathers unto the third and fourth generations of them that hate me, and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me”. Basically God is giving the Amorites time to repent, around 4 generations worth of time (Exodus 20). Because even in his judgement and wrath he is according the the rest of the Torah “long suffering”. God gives us ample time to repent, and his mercy is everlasting. An example where a land did repent was Nineveh in Jonah, where after promising to destroy them for their sin God relents since they repented

I have understood that it can be translated "The iniquity of the Amorites has not reached full measure." I don't see that being anything other than they hadn't reached the point of no return. Its not about sin being to many demerits, but God, in His perfect love has and will strive with man. Be is long suffering so that all might come to repentance. But He knows when one has become so distant that they need to be cut off in order that mercy is shown on behalf of the rest of man by cutting off those who are beyond the point of ever repenting. And their lifestyle continuing can only cause greater ruin to those who might otherwise be saved.

Jamie Russell, You have nailed it. That is the context and the sense embedded in the verse and I couldn't have said it better. What you said falls in line with God's ultimate program which is to save as many souls as He patiently waits even for the most evil or wicked man to come to repentance. In my mind though, I am also inclined to think that there is or there must be a specific kind of iniquity that God is looking at here that is continuing to this day, never mind that those perpetuating it aren't literal Amorite descendants or generations, they become associated with the Amorites due to that one iniquity. God doesn't look at genealogy and He made that clear when Jesus said "those who claim to be Jews but are not..." or "you are of your father Satan.." as He was speaking to the Jews. Clearly in God's eyes, it's not race, tribe or family that becomes a basis of what we are to Him, but rather whether we follow Him to repentance, or we continue to live in iniquity and rebellion against Him. Salvation after all, cannot be bought nor acquired thru genealogy nor identity, but by Grace thru repentance and submission to God's will. So, depending on what literally that Amorite iniquity might be, many could be guilty of it in the present day and God is just patiently waiting for them to humbly come to Him and receive salvation.

The Amorites were not an individual rather many individuals in a nation. “He causes the rain to fall on both the Godly and the evil”. There was (IMHO) a remnant of individuals in the country, those who were following God or at least who were not fully evil, all the time. Many nations turned from evil way, repented and God blesses their nation.

Matthew 24:37-39 (NKJV) 37 “But as the days of Noah [were,] so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 “and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Ie to the world Jesus will come like a flood and with destruction etc. But some insert the assumption that there will be giants because it mentioned Noah’s flood. A large stretch of the verses!!! I believe it’s extremely important to understand what the word iniquity means. It’s a specific sin. It translates as crooked behavior so inequity is a behavioral sin. As trans gression translates from breaking of trust. So it would be a deception of sin. In the Lord’s prayer forgive us of our transgressions as we forgive those have transgressed against us. Just so everyone knows it’s not saying forgive us of our sins as we forgive those who sin against us but forgive us of our deception as we forgive those who have deceived us. Just throwing that out there as when iniquity was mentioned I immediately wanted everyone to know that iniquity is crooked behavior. And that is not my opinion that is translation. Well it seems pretty self evident that that passage means something has to play out. God doesn't just stop sin before it happens. This should be obvious really. I mean it's easy to just look at biblical experts to explain everything, but sometimes things are in plain view and anyone's guess is as good as the next, as long as we're talking about relatively generic terms and phrases at least.

Here is the Hebrew: וְדוֹר רְבִיעִי, יָשׁוּבוּ הֵנָּה: כִּי לֹא-שָׁלֵם עֲוֺן הָאֱמֹרִי, עַד-הֵנָּה. The Hebrew literally says, "the time, or season of the Amorites is not yet here:. Rabbinic commentary says that the Amorites, which is another term for Canaanites, would not come to an end until 4 generations have passed since the Exodus. Remember, this is a prophecy. Basically, the Canaanite nations would come to an end when Joshua and the Israelites entered the land promised to them by HaShem. You should learn to read Hebrew because English oftentimes does a miserable job of translating Hebrew words.

I'm not sure I am with you wholly on this one. Certainly it could be an explanation. But also it could be the "cup if iniquity is not full." We see the "god striving with mankind until it is judgement time" as a theme throughout scriptures. Noah and the flood, The Israelites going to Babylonian captivity, the end times ad "because they would not listen to the truth He gives them over to believe a lie" just to name three. We also know that God had prophets of truth in the land at least Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Some could say Baalam was an apostate prophet but that is arguable. We also know God sets up nations and takes them down - the Biblical theme being -taken down for iniquity. So why not in this case?

I am of the belief that Nephilim seed came through the flood in DNA form in the wives of the sons of Noah, possibly all three of them. The wife of Ham may have been a bad choice on purpose to intentionally go against his father Noah and that may be the ' thing ' that Ham had done to him, then when Canaan shows signs of heavy Nephilim DNA then Noah announces that Canaan is indeed cursed. The majority of giant tribes came from Canaan line. There were some giants from the line of Japheth ( Gog and Magog ) as well as many others. The line of Shem is most pure but may have had rare recessive gene that came forth in Esau as he was a very hairy ( hairy like an animal ) red - haired rough man and that event would have put both the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent together in the same womb with fraternal twins. Even though Esau came out first he just could NOT carry the birthright and the line to the Messiah. It had to be removed from him. Read King James old testament with these things in mind, pay close attention to names of places and people. It will play out.

If the wives of the sons of Noah had it in their dna would that also say that Jesus somehow had it in His dna? I tend to lean towards the opposite direction. Either some of the Nephilim's survived because Genesis 6 stated that the Nephilims were also afterwards or the same problem happened. The bible is not specific in saying that it happened again so it might not have happened again. In the NT though Paul wrote to the Corinthian women to cover their head because of the angels so it can become a possibility. It's something to think about but the good news is Jesus has defeated and disarmed all the powers of darkness on the cross.

In the story of Judah and Tamar , Judah was the pure line to the Messiah but he picked up a bad line Canaanite wife who then introduced bad seed into the Messiah lineage. That was why the first two sons had to be eliminated by God. The third son would have also been eliminated as well but Tamar headed it off by getting Judah to have a child by her thus bypassing the Canaanite blood altogether. I believe Tamar was of pure blood and possibly even was wise to the whole situation and that is why she got Judah to impregnate her which also saved Shelah from death. The pure seed had to win out in the end. God has always kept a remnant of the pure seed to the Messiah even when it looked like the serpent seed was going to win.

In Genesis 14 the Amorites helped Abram beat Elam et al. Then if we apply secular history hammurabi comes over 100 years later conquers Babylon and creates laws in the name of Marduk. And about 400 years after gen 15 the Kassites sack Babylon and end the amorite dynasty that ruled Babylon. The timing for the Exodus of Hebrews from Egypt may coincide with an exodus of Amorites from Babylon setting up for Deuteronomy. Also 2 Kings 21 and Ezra 9 talk more about the iniquity/evil of the Amorites

The other theory is that God changed the angels after Genesis 6 incursion so that they could not ‘ mingle ‘ their seed with men anymore. By the time of the flood the entire human race had been contaminated with Nephilim DNA except for Noah and his family , they had to get wives of as pure of lineage as possible. Shem got a good wife, Japheth almost as good but Ham chose a bad one, possibly on purpose thereby bringing some bad genetics through the flood which surfaced in his sons mostly Canaan. That was why Noah said Canaan was cursed and if you follow the lineage from there you find that most of the new lineage of giants and severely evil tribes came from Canaan. Where it says the little clue in ( I think it’s Daniel ) that “ they will mingle their seed with the seed of men but it will not cleave one to another “ I believe that is a clue to back up that the angels cannot do that anymore but they keep trying anyway.

Based on the fact that they were prevalent in Mesopotamia and took over Sumer over time, the term Amorite refers to Semitic nomadic people or at least people of nomadic origins, whose culture was a martial culture.
