@sharpey200611 жыл бұрын
No, it wasn't the PCB's fault. It was Mohammed Amir's fault. It was Salman Butt's fault. Yes it is a wasted talent. But he chose to break the law. He chose to take the money. He chose spit in the eye of all those cricket fans who pay to watch Pakistani cricket. I hope he can be rehabilitated and return one day. But the rest of them can rot. The PCB are a shambles and there's way too much governmental interference but if you or I steal from work, is it our boss' fault?

***** Tony every profession is different. In sports, you have to take care and nurture your star players. Players like mohd Amir and Mohd Asif come from an extremely poor background and with no education have no idea how to handle fame and fortune. Talent like Mohd Amir is extremely rare, he is like an asset, and one has to protect this asset and therefore its PCB management that has the responsibility to look after him, which they didn't. Thus losing rare asset. This is done in sports all over the world, football, basketball clubs make sure that their young talented players are properly managed so they don't lose them

I know some will say rich or poor should know right and wrong but that's where the lack of education comes into this. I think it's more widespread than what has been exposed so far whether it's international or domestic cricket there is a presence of corruption. Mohammad Amir merely got caught.

No 18 year old is not the same on all continents because if you were in born in Pakistan 20000 pound mean so much that you could never imagine. This means buying your own house and making sure your family is taken care of. I wish I could explain but I can't just because you would not understand. He got screwed by someone who didn't need money more than this kid. I have cried watching Michael Holding how disappointed he was in this kid of messing with life. I hope he comes back and does well and climbs the ladder and plays how he did! I hope Salman Butt gets his butt kicked all his life.
@himanshujoshi17798 жыл бұрын
+hunzukutz It is really sad that a great talent like him got lured by some lechers into this.... Those 20000 will mean nothing once he will reflect back and find what he has lost while gaining few pounds.... And as a cricket fan i was deeply hurt by seeing such a bowler getting wasted.... and watching Michael was just heartbreaking... any genuine cricket lover will feel the same albeit his nationality..... but the question is ---> Was there no one to guide this young boy who has just entered the big stage???? How does PCB looks after their young talent?? Who were the big names who convinced or forced him into this and what were their connections as these "CONNECTIONS" will again try to do the same thing with some other players and the victim can be anyone from any country...
@hunzukutz8 жыл бұрын
I agree with you that in hindsight 20000 is nothing but for someone who use to play on the street with a tapped ball it is a shit load of money. Also, I sure hope PCB has learnt something from this and actually teach their upcoming kids something to the fact of how great a player could be in the WORLD of Cricket. Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt were the bullies that made this kid follow them and did everything they wanted him to do including dumping his amazing talent down the drain. I don't even know how great this kid would have been, I guess we will never know!!!

He insisted though that I keep it anyway. I don't think I even looked at the money; I put it in the safe. I had £8000 pounds lying separately in an open bag. And so I kept the £1500 separate in the safe, I didn't even touch it. That was because I knew he had made me do something wrong."

very refreshing to see such talent - such fast bowling. I have been a great fan of the pakistani fast bowling .... Akram, Imran, Waqar, Shoaib ... and now I have no doubts Amir will join that league. Unfortunately India has not produced fast bowlers who bring that kind of excitement in the field. At present cricket is becoming quite boring - hope people like Amir will change that perception.
