i remember this song on San Francisco's KFRC...It holds very sad memory of when my boyfriends best friend Rick Barboni was killed in an auto accident on Christmas night 1974. My birthday was 2 days later...it was difficult to even think about celebrating...we went to the drive in movie on 101...and heard this song and immediately felt as though Rick was telling us everything was ok. Its been years since I have thought of this...but this song brings me right back to that time. Songs are powerful...cant imagine a song like this playing now on a rock station as it did back then...but then so did the song The Lords Prayer...weve come a long way...not for the good.

🎄such an amazing song! i heard this on the radio growing up in the 70s, & loved johnny mathis's version. many people sing it, but no one as beautifully as MICHAEL HOLM. 💖 what a heavenly voice! 🎶

A ray of hope flickers in the sky A tiny star lights up way up high All across the land, dawns a brand new morn This comes to pass when a child is born A silent wish sails the seven seas The winds of change whisper in the trees And the walls of doubt crumble, tossed and torn This comes to pass when a child is born A rosy hue settles all around You've got to feel you're on solid ground For a spell or two, no one seems forlorn This comes to pass when a child is born And all of this happens because the world is waiting Waiting for one child Black, white, yellow, no one knows But a child that will grow up and turn tears to laughter Hate to love, war to peace and everyone to everyone's neighbour And misery and suffering will be words to be forgotten forever It's all a dream, an illusion now It must come true, sometime soon somehow All across the land, dawns a brand new morn This comes to pass when a child is born

In Brazilian version, I remember the Francisco Cuoco who will turn 90 years in next year. Today I have time I have all the time in the world to think of us To think of you, of me In all the little things we've done that I still don't understand Because I love you How I want you

There was an American artist who put this out on a 45 around the same time and I cannot think of his name. He was pretty much a one act pony, I believe, and I think the record might have been on 20th Century and his name was similar to this artist.

I think it was a spanish Dude that Made the music but the Text ("when a child is Born" and "Tränen lügen nicht") are unique to Holm.
