Human Nature was engineered to perfection. It just sounds great what ever instrument is isolated.

I've been listening to this EVERY single night, for two or three months now, just to relax, since it helps me sleep. Without this it would take an hour to fall asleep after going to bed. It also reminds me how beautiful this song is, but at the same time, what Michael endured during his lifetime.. :'( Makes me realize how strong he was. Thank you for making this

MJ Genesis That’s actually such a lovely comment 😊 I’m so pleased you’re able to get to sleep listening to this - and you’re right, it’s one of those songs that makes you think a lot into MJ... just a boy who wanted to regain his lost years, but never stopped doing what he believed was right 😊

A couple of years ago Steve Porcaro told a reporter the story of Human Nature and then played it on a keyboard. Even she was getting into it. Steve Porcaro and David Paich worked on a couple of demo's and sent them over on a double sided tape as it was played on a tape player that had auto reverse Quincy Jones heard Human Nature and he liked it.
@ralpholiver28892 жыл бұрын
Wild how Michael and Quincy made it their own. The original demo is available online and although it's brilliant in its own right, it's nothing compared to the final

This whole song is incredible but My favourite part is at 2:12 I always loved that. It takes Me back to when I was a little boy and I heard this for the first time. This song is almost spiritual for Me words can't describe how good it is. Thanks again

I love the how the Fender Rhodes fades in at 0:29
@nilsisberg54454 жыл бұрын
Are you sure? Did they use both a real Fender Rhodes and a Yamaha GS-1 with an Electric Piano sound? I thought they just used a Yamaha GS-1.
@jaggass3 жыл бұрын
@@nilsisberg5445 I asked Steve Porcaro if he used a Fender Rhodes doubled up with a Yamaha GS1 and he said Yamaha GS1 only. It fooled me for ages but listening it to more i can tell now as the bell type sound is different to a Fender Rhodes but when you hit the keys hard and at lower notes. It does make sense as Steve Porcaro was using a Yamaha GS1 for Africa. Roughly around the same time he wrote Human Nature.
@nilsisberg54453 жыл бұрын
@@jaggass Wow! Cool that you got to speak with him, that's amazing! Yes, very interesting, the GS1:s electric piano sound is very similar to the DX7, but it's a little different. And the DX7 wasn't even released when they recorded this, so it's almost like they used the sound before it existed! :) Very cool sound design, and it sounds fresh even today!
@jaggass3 жыл бұрын
@@nilsisberg5445 The GS1 was the foreunner to the DX7. Toto also worked very closely with Yamaha at the time as well and have used their keyboards ever since they started in the late 70's.
@nilsisberg54453 жыл бұрын
@@jaggass Yeah, I know. They must have had a ton of fun! The Toto musicians must have been pretty good test subjects for the synths haha. And it's quite interesting that the standard electric piano patch on the GS1 almost sounds more like a real Rhodes using it's four operators than the DX7 which has six. I guess since it didn't have enough operators to make sort of a "chorus effect" with detuning like the DX7, the patch was more like a neutral Rhodes sound. I think I read some hilarious story about how Toto had this huge machine from Yamaha that you could modify the FM patches of the GS1 with and they spent several days just tweaking the kalimba sound for Africa to get it just right, and in addition to that, on the record there are like six different overdubs of slight variations of the kalimba riff in Africa. Man, they've got to be happy that Africa has gotten so much radioplay, and still does, because it sounds like it took eterneties to record and mix the track!

I'm so disappointed that the latest vocals/synth/rhodes video you put up with the vocals was copyright claimed. I assume vocals were just added to this synth bounce track in this video. That's what I wanted to hear so bad. I think it would've been awesome. Just pure Michael and piano. It would've made this classic song fresh again, or rather, "Reborn". Is there a way to get past the censors by remixing/uploading another video with maybe just the vocal & piano bounce and deleting, say, the synthesized strings? Still, thanks for all the uploads you've already done. ("Subscribe" button hit)

What does the word 'bounce' denote in this context?
@RebornAudio6 жыл бұрын
tsangpogorge The word “bounce” comes from the action taken within Logic Pro which combines all tracks into one stereo track, retaining all effects applied within the Logic project. Hopefully that clears things up for you! 😊

gotta be DX7, got that FM synthesis sound, any of you synth anorakrs out there know what was on the track? sounds sequenced too
@tsangpogorge5 жыл бұрын
This was recorded in 1982, DX7 entered production in '83. Pretty sure it's mostly CS80 with Jupiter 8 used for the sequenced parts and some other synth at 1:02 (possibly Synclavier).

The main rhodes is a Yamaha GS 1, so yeah it is FM but not DX7
