A beautiful song that was in Free Willy 2. A great tune from Michael Jackson that really explores Michael's lack of a proper childhood due to his life in the rough neighborhood of Gary Indiana, which was plagued with crime and violence, and also due to his showbiz career which cut him off from many important activities in his childhood. As many said, it is an important tune to listen to if you want to know who is Michael Jackson. A man who had all the success and fame in the world, but not the chance to experience normal activities that the public takes for granted (ex: going to the grocery store, playing in a park, having fun with friends, etc.)

It breaks my heart how he was treated, he deserved so much more, lately I’ve been grieving for him and reflecting on his life and the person he was. He was truly 1 of 1

We feel the exact same way. We have a ton of videos about him on our channel because we miss him so much and he was SO mistreated while he was here.

This song breaks my heart 💔 he was the most famous star, had all the money in the world, and still all he wanted was his childhood 😥 Michael was a always a lost little boy craving the love he didn't get 💔

We will put Sunset Driver on our list. Thank you for the kind words BTW. I (Russ) have been standing up for him my whole life. Lauren has just recently come to understand how truly mistreated MJ was. You can see how she genuinely reacts to it.

Absolutely agree. Incredibly underrated vocalist, which is strange to say for someone so successful, but his showmanship kind of overshadowed a lot of things. He could really do extraordinary things both technically as well as emoting on another level.

With Michael Jackson is not abt feeling entertained, or just listening to someone singing or seeing someone dancing like fluid mercury. He is creating experiences, it's about to feel. Let aside his own vocal technique and approach to singing- ,,method,, singing, as in Marlon Brando's method acting- he really was using music (and singing and dancing) to communicate with the world. And he is careful not to trouble our souls too much, for example how he is singing ,,the pain,, with a soft touch, a soft voice, in order to not not provoque a heavy rain inside the listener...If Lauren's tears are a sincere response to the world of this song, one can feel the melancholy of Russ's voice and restraint. I love your doggo so much! Thank you for your heartfelt reaction. I like also Someone in the dark, Scared by the moon, Much too soon, Be not always, Seeing voices, Ben ( live Triumph tour), Smile, You were there.Thank you, beautiful family! Have a nice weekend!

Couldn't agree more with everything you said about the way Michael sings. I (Russ) am so happy to see how well Lauren understood what he was trying to say with this song. I love those songs you listed. Many of them are hard for me to listen to because Michael's vocals are just so pure and beautiful but we will do our best to get to a reaction video for some of them :)
@duncanidaho8900Ай бұрын
@@InfectiousGroovePodcast what you've said at the end was the cherry on top to this emotional reaction. Those words stuck in my mind the whole afternoon. That he was treated like garbage...I specially left aside I'll be there and Will you be there. The connection between the songs is so heart wrenching, he sang to us that he will be there for us any time, but when he asked the same, few were there. Ppl like you for example. Thank you so much! He is The Nightingale. No metaphor here. The embodiment of singing your heart out.

@@InfectiousGroovePodcast Yes, I was as well. But I think this song just connects with everyone's inner child that often gets ignored and pushed aside as one grows up and gains new responsibilities.

I began listening to MJ when the ‘can you feel it’ vid was introduced on bbc. ‘ tell the news to the mountain men who are hating their brother that hate won’t do’. It’s always been the vocals and the eyes for me, yeah his speaking voice was fake but not his singing as this beautiful track illustrates. I didn’t keep it together so kudos to you for being able to push through ❤

We actually did a #reaction to the Can You Feel It Short Film a while ago too. We love that song. So glad you enjoyed this video, as I'm sure you can tell, we absolutely love Michael Jackson :)
@duncanidaho8900Ай бұрын
@ carole.He said in his autobiography that his voice is real concluding with this is the truth, take it or leave it. Check Wings of Pegasus channel, he is a musician that has a video where he explains MJ's voice as being real. Stop believing the idiotic things put out there. He had a beautiful male voice ( you can hear it for example in Bad tour at the end when he was saying thank you, I love you! Wembley I think, after MITM), the tone used was soft and different, thus this impression of speaking ,,fake,,. I've seen a stupid video with his so called deep voice, that video is fake. Later in life once his voice changed- his vocal coach Seth Riggs said that a male voice Is changing after 30 yrs old- his voice was a little bit deeper.

I never heard of him being underrated as a vocalist to be honest
@InfectiousGroovePodcastАй бұрын
Maybe underrated isn't the right word. I just feel like so many people think of him as a showman before anything else, if that makes sense.
@DJKurohАй бұрын
@InfectiousGroovePodcast I think when people make cross genre "greatest vocalists of all time" lists he is absolutely underrated and underestimated. People put him as a pop vocalist and that's it. All his acapellas are nuts.

@DJKuroh totally agree with exactly what you're saying.
@Snyper1405Ай бұрын
@@DJKurohhe's the most versatile artist ever in vocals, to be honest. I mean, a perfect example is you listen to a song like don't stop til you get enough and then go listen to Morphine and you will recognise the "grit" in his voice
