Info on The Wiz- the play was an adaptation of The Wizard of Oz with an all black cast. When they decided to turn it into a movie, Diana Ross basically kicked and screamed until she got the part of Dorothy. She was way too old to play the part, so they had to change the script to fit her age. Stephanie Mills played Dorothy on Broadway and would have been great on screen as well. Fun fact: Stephanie and Michael dated for a bit while he was filming The Wiz in New York.

The original Jackson 5 lineup was Michael, Jermaine(bass), Jackie, Marlon and Tito(guitar). After Jermaine left the group to stay with Motown, the youngest brother, Randy joined. There were 9 kids (6 boys/3 girls) in total (well 10 if you count the daughter that Joe had while cheating on Katherine ). The oldest sister is Rebbie, LaToya’s in the middle and Janet’s the youngest.

Destined to help the career of MJ. THe timing was right and boom those incredible hits found a home and onto some great records. Even after they dumped Rod the composer could still craft some solid pop confections for several artists and movie soundtracks. Often working hard behind the scenes TEMPERTON didn't get the recognition from the public. I was the exception I was following and giving him props from the HEATWAVE days.

The EPIC label had very few hits for the JACKSONS. BY that era the boys had done thousands of gigs and tv variety show Las Vegas appearances. The elite performers who reach this stage know how to entertain an audience. Give them some hit songs and they should excel. It's like a snowball rolling down a hill and growing bigger & bigger. It was time to lose the old routines and dance moves of the 70 s.
